摘要：托福口语满分绝不是一日两日就能做到的，就像这位托友一样，多么认真的备考和资料整理才造就了难得的托福口语满分。

在这个浮躁的世界里，找到一个不浮躁的角落，跟我的朋友们一起进步。

故事的开始：

从没有出过天朝的土鳖一只，第一次考托口语22，无外教培训，无VIP培训，无女朋友

故事的现在：

第二次考试口语满分，总分113，卡耐基梅隆大学电子计算机系硕士，来美国前任北京新东方托福口语老师，现在致力于用一切技术和非技术手段改善学习体验。深感包括自己在内的中国留学生英文交流能力极度匮乏，限制了生活、学习、情感等各个方面的发展。

故事的过程：

一、中国学生口语必须要好，不是应该，是必须。

again，不是应该，是必须。

我负责任的说，大多数学生考试之前好好准备过的口语段子不超过5个，这也是为什么中国学生口语平均18分，因为有毅力坚持下来的少，我知道这是废话，但是如果这点毅力和勇气都没有，我只能说即使你到了美国，才是灾难的开始。

刚来美国的时候大家跟我说，口语好的中国人才能找到工作，我说怎么可能，大家不都是拼实力么？

现在我终于体会到了，中国学生交流真的是狂弱，而且我们不知道为什么，都不愿意张开嘴去跟别人交流，跟国内一模一样，而且现在大多数的美国好大学都有巨大的华人圈子，我们更加没有动力去突破comfort zone 了，大家以前以为的出了国你的口语听力自然就上来了真的是天方夜谭。

跟大家说一个数字吧，每年在美国拿到H1B也就是工作签证的印度人超过5万人，你们猜猜中国人多少，9000。5倍以上的差距，我遇到的大多数印度人技术远远不如中国人，懒人多，不愿意像中国人一样起早贪黑的学习，但是他们从小受教育试用的就是英语，所以他们交流上障碍很少。身边的中国人多少都有研究成果或者工作被同组的印度人抢走了的经历，而且他们说得天花乱坠，导师不得不相信是他们做的，因为你，sadly，什么都说不出来，虽然工作全是你做的，你甚至都无法让别人感受到你的愤怒！

为什么你找不到工作？很简单，你不会聊天，在这里我也用我自己的经历提醒一些口语自己觉得不错的同学吧。能聊天跟会聊天是不一样的。中国同学的英文水平大多只停留在能让别人懂你的意思上，很少有人能够达到能让别人喜欢你。反观印度人，我去学校各种办公室办事儿的时候看到印度人跟工作人员聊天，大多是谈笑风生，气氛非常愉悦。但是中国人一去，立刻就只能是公事儿公办了。

最近看到的一篇文章说，中国留学生给外国人的印象是有钱聪明但是没礼貌，大家就开始批评中国的素质教育。其实我想说一个不同的观点，中国人，特别是中国留学生都很有礼貌，只不过你表达不行，不经意的一句话，就让别人误会了。比如你找人办事，上来第一句就是，hi， I want to check for my application status . 米国人就会觉得，这人好粗鲁，因为他们的习惯是，hi，how are you today？ Can I check for my application status。。。道理虽然粗浅，但是这些你的英语老师都没有教过你，u r gonna learn after u suffer。

所以在国内的时候，口语多好都不过分，再好也觉得自己怎么样，如果英语不好，那请你张开嘴，抛开面子，抛开羞涩，开始说口语。

二、语音 VS. 内容

有人说语音好没有用，好多语音特别牛还是22分。确实是，我第一次考试之前就这个状态，考完之后觉得ETS是个不靠谱，不懂得欣赏。后来才慢慢明白，内容更重要，光有语音就好像你有一个音色特别好的钢琴，但是你技术不行，弹不出流畅优美的乐曲，浪费了好钢琴不说，某种程度上也辜负了听众对你的期待，不能说会给你打分更低，but you get the point。

所以我先从内容开始说起，楼主后来对口语内容的追求可谓是孜孜不倦，我从来不看市面上浮躁的快餐材料，我每遇到的每一个自己没说过的话题，都回到网上去google这个话题相关的文章，然后把文章里地道的句子和表达攒成一个100字左右的答案，比如我喜欢林书豪，就去搜体育记者写的关于lin的文章，把精华的部分背下来，不在于用词有多难，而在于地道。有这样十几个段子之后，再遇到题目就都能扯回去了，感觉段子之间发生了神奇的化学反应，每次有人跟我说他考过什么题，我基本都可以立刻说出我曾经准备过的答案。

我给大家个我准备过的例子作为参考吧，看看是不是市面上那些毫无营养的口语段子，

这个是人物

三、机经

楼主不是大牛，有人私信问我机经的问题，我就聊聊机经，机经虽好，但不是应急之物，正确的对待机经的态度应该是把机经当成题库。我不是想说大家急功近利，而是你们考完一两次托福就不会再回来了，而不像我，花了很长的时间连续的观察和研究一个东西，只有这样才能发现他的规律。

楼主考完托福后，去东方做了一段儿托福口语老师，从兼职到全职将近三年时间吧，在北京高中的学生群里中也算小有名气。大多数的培训机构注重预测这，预测那的，我个人的想法与之格格不入，这三年间楼主最想干的一件事儿，就是做一个口语题库，把所有遇到的口语题目都写下答案，到我留学之前，写了2万多字，起名机经小册子，主要给北京学校的学生用。

这个过程中我就发现，太多题目都是可以重复了，真的需要准备的题目不超过50道，换句话说，有毅力的人坐下来也就不到两个月的时间，准备50个段子，即使你没有那么久的准备时间，你也可以离满分更近一些，这样想还多么。

四、教学和留学的一点感受

还是这句话，在这个浮躁的世界里，找到一个不浮躁的角落，跟我的朋友们一起进步。

我在东方教了3年口语，大家多少对教育培训行业稍微有点了解的都知道，这个行业里教半年以上的就叫老老师了，我教了3年，说起来还蛮有意思的，我学生的学生都有当老师的了，呵呵。

我最大的体会就是，没有捷径，以前我的老师陈琦说过，吃苦是守恒的。每当托福或者SAT出分的时候，我就会跟我的学生再说这句话，吃苦是守恒的，不吃努力学习的苦，那就去吃悔恨的苦。想去名校上学，那就请把自己当一个准名校的学生一样要求。不说好50个口语段子，不可能到26，不精心准备10个SAT作文例子，作文不会12分，学霸如此，学渣如此，一切皆是如此。

有些同学说，靠，你说的道理我都明白，可是我下个月就考试了，没有那么多时间了！？

我在卡耐基梅隆上过全校最受欢迎的老师prof.Kosbie，他的python课以rewarding 和challenging 著称，当他跟自己的学生说一定要读完参考资料再去做lab的时候也遇到的一样的问题，有些学生说， I have so much homework due at the same time, I don't have time to read all the references. 他说，if you don't have time to do that, you don't have time not to do that. 因为你不去做你应该做的，那么你会花更多的时间不断的原地踏步。这也是我想说的，如果你没有时间做这些事儿，那请你记住，你也没有时间不做这些事儿了
