Bank guarantee - A bank guarantee is the bank's promise to repay the debt of another person if that person does not pay the debt.

Bonds - A bond is a certificate which shows a debt. The issuer of the bond promises to pay the holder a specific amount of interest for a specific length of time. On the maturity date, the loan is repaid. The assets of a corporation are pledged as security for the loan. Bonds are issued by corporations and federal, provincial and municipal governments. If a company is liquidated, bond holders can claim any company assets before shareholders.
