Have you ever taken a ride on a river ? Some rivers flow slowly and gently . you can take a relaxing float down this kind of river to enjoy yourself .

All rivers are made of fresh water . The water usually comes from rain or melted snow . Sometimes the water comes from underground spring s.

The water that finally forms a river collects in an area called the watershed .(分水岭) You would probably need rubber boots to walk in a watersed in springtime . The ground would be wet with spring rains or melted snow . Watersheds are usually high up on hills or mountains . Rain and melting snow flow through the watershed and form tiny streams .(溪)As the streams flow downhill. They join together . The place where a river begins is called its headwaters

Rivers get bigger when stream flow into them . These streams are called tributaries .(支流) A smaller river also can be a tributary of a larger river . A big river and its tributaries form a river system .

六、书面表达(满分15分)

读下面的短文,写一篇读后感。不少于300字。

Happiness is not something that comes to you . It is somethng you create now , today . Waiting for something to change in order to be happy is waiting to live your life . It is not what happens to you that counts . It is how you react to what happens to you . It is your attitude . When

you adopt a positive attitude , life becomes a fruitful adventure instead of something to get through

If you wish to be happy , you have to be less involved in your own happiness and more involved in the happiness of other begins . Make others happy , and you become happy as a result . Involve yourself totally , throw yourself into what you are doing in life , and happiness will result . Begin to do more of what you love NOW and let that grow until it fills your life . Then happiness will be yours , and you will be better able to bring happiness to the world .
