常用的表达有:city hall(市政府),city(城市),municipal(市政的),municipality (市政当局),suburb(郊区),countryside(乡村),administrative district (行政区),residential area(住宅区),commercial district(商业区),slums (贫民区);关于城市中的一些基本设施和服务,包括:post office(邮局),

出国留学考雅思、新托福、备考大学四六级,就来徐州朗阁 https://www.wendangku.net/doc/0912770317.html, public lavatory(公共厕所),public telephone(公用电话),shopping centre (商场),snack bar(小吃店),stock exchange(股票交易所),traffic light (红绿灯),art gallery(美术馆),botanical garden(植物园),employment agency(职业介绍),bank(银行),bookstore(书店),court(法院),highway (公路),motorway(高速公路),hospital(医院),junk shop(旧货店),library(图书馆),museum(博物馆),newsstand(报摊),port(港口),restaurant(餐馆),skyscraper(摩天大楼),stadium(体育场),station (车站),theatre(电影院戏院)。

Pros of big cities:

Big money at work, first-class education, a large transport network, fancy restaurants and luxurious townhouses are definitely the charms(魅力)of big cities.

Life in big cities is endlessly colourful(无尽精彩)as you have a wide range of entertainment.

This city is steeped in(沉浸在)time-honored(历史悠久的)traditions.

It’s prosperous(繁荣的).

This city is well-known for its architectural heritage(建筑遗产). The cityscape(城市风景)is gorgeous(华丽的,漂亮极了的)and there are tons of towering skyscrapers(高耸的摩天大楼).

High-rise buildings(高城建筑)are sprouting up(涌现)all over the city.

出国留学考雅思、新托福、备考大学四六级,就来徐州朗阁 https://www.wendangku.net/doc/0912770317.html, This city is like a magnet(磁铁)for tourists.

Cons of big cities:

The air is so smoggy(烟雾重的).

Lots of people there suffer from respiratory diseases(呼吸系统疾病).

The traffic is always bumper-to-bumper(保险杠对保险杠,指非常拥挤)during rush hours.

The cost of living is sky-high(极高的).

The economy is in a slump(消沉,指经济不景气).

I can’t stand the hustle and bustle(拥挤喧闹)there.

Some areas are pretty run-down(破旧的).

It’s densely-populated(人口密集的).

Pros of small cities:

Live a quiet and peaceful life.

Get away from the hustles and bustles(拥挤喧闹).

Small cities are of sufficient natural resources.

Cons of small cities:

Tons of small cities in China are confronted with serious brain drain(人才流失).

A rising number of chemical factories built in small countries and

countryside arouse grievous(严重的)water degradation(水质下降).

Average income(收入水平)in small cities falls far behind that in big cities.

出国留学考雅思、新托福、备考大学四六级,就来徐州朗阁 https://www.wendangku.net/doc/0912770317.html, The general public service(整体社会服务水平)in small cities is lower than that in most big cities.

Q: Do you prefer to live in a big city or small city?

A: Personally, small city seems more preferable. I like living in small cities for its slow life pace and quietness. I mean I don't have to suffer the hustle and bustle.S o I’m able to enjoy cosiness. According to my experience living in a big city for three years, living in big cities is just stressful. You know, the sky-high housing price and fierce competition propel many youngsters like me to move out of big cities though there are completed public services; otherwise we’ll end up with being a mortgage slave and having a naked wedding.

Describe a family member you spend most time with You should say: Who the person is How long you have been together What you do together And explain why you'd like to spend time with this person.

Describe a book you read、a gift you received from others、a wild animal、a handicraft、an electrical appliance that is useful to you、an important letter that you received、a game you played in your childhood等; 抽象类物品如:Describe an interesting news、a useful website、 a performance you saw、a organization、your future job、your future plan、something that you don't know but would like to learn等。 Describe a gift you sent to others 物品词汇: Arts and crafts工艺品;Charm护身符;Cross stitch 十字绣;Knitting 编织品;Shell craft 贝壳制品;Mug 杯子;Multi Purpose Tools 多功能工具 物品特点词汇:

What are the effects of playing indoor games on children。 例如,雅思口语Part1中有这样一题——What are the effects of music on people’s life and work, 这就是显性影响类的典型问题。 Do you think weekends are important

Sample: To be honest, I have lots of ambitions. And I'm going to talk about one of them, which is winning the first prize in a table tennis match. You know, winning a prize is always exciting and the winners are adored(受喜爱) by people. Honestly, I didn’t take part in lots of competitions. But I really want to win that one. Table Tennis is one of the most exciting sports in the world. Besides, the players are admired and respected by people. You know, I’m from China, its national sport is table tennis. Lots of students can play it well. So can I (我也能). Table tennis is played on a table and the rules are similar to tennis. Usually, two types of matches are played on table tennis – single match, team match. In a single match, usually, there is one opponent(对手) in each of the sides while the opponents become two in the team match. All of the teams or players try to hit the ball. Winning a table tennis match is difficult indeed. I have to struggle a lot for winning the matches. I usually practice the match solo though one of my friends wants to team up with(组队) me. But I declined(拒绝) him as I am not a good team player(有团队精神的人). In order to win it, I practice different techniques for hours everyday. Usually making the balls to swing is one of the difficult ways in table tennis and if someone could master it, playing and especially defeating becomes easier. So, I practise the specific way at my home with my sister. Moreover, I sometimes play table tennis with some of my friends who come to visit me at my home. Besides, dad also likes to play table tennis. So, I have lots of practice with him as well. I will try my best to play. If I win the first prize, I will be overwhelmed with joy and excitement(陷入喜悦和激动). It’ll be a proof(证明) of my ability. I will definitely feel a sense of achievement. Part3: ●What kinds of ambitions do people have?

She taught me English in school. I had her class about 6 years ago, and she taught me for a full year. First let me tell you how she looks. She looks very normal except that she's very beautiful inside. She's tall and thin, but the thing you can notice about her is her wonderful, dark eyes with very bushy eyebrows under her spectacles. I can still picture her. You know she did not seem friendly at first, because she is very stem when she speaks, and she will not tolerate nonsense, but she is very kind in her own special way. She is also very demanding and clear when she speaks, and her concern is not so much with your grades but your effort. The effect she had on me was very powerful. Essentially she taught me that you could be very disciplined and stem and hard working but
