Unit4 A Night the Earth Didn't Sleep Reading

Content of the passage

The passage mainly tells us that an earthquake happened in Tangshan at night on 28 July, 1976, and 400,000 people were killed or seriously injured, because its main reason was that the earthquake happened at deep night. The passage can be divided into three parts. The first part is about some strange things happened before the earthquake. The second part is about the damages caused by the earthquake. The third part is about all help was given to Tangshan after the earthquake. From the passage, students will know clearly about the predictions before an earthquake. At the same time, teachers can guide them to think how to prepare yourself before an earthquake happens, how to self-rescue during an earthquake and how to help the people in disaster-hit areas. So that they can set up their right attitudes towards life. Ability goals
