I’m sorry to hear that you are ill and I hope you’ll be well soon. I’m writing to tell to you something about the English Salon yesterday.

The English Salon, which was held from 19:00 to 20:00 yesterday and hosted by our foreign teacher Andy, attracted many students and teachers in the Lecture Hall. During the activity, we discussed the differences between Britain English and American English. Believe it or not, we were all shocked to find there are so many differences between them, including vocabulary, spelling, pronunciation as well as some language usages. However, the British and Americans can understand each other well and communicate freely. He also pointed out that there are many different kinds of English in the world and the pronunciations and grammar might be different from place to place even in different regions of one country.
