1.在复合句中充当状语成分的从句，称为状语从句。状语从句按其在句中的意义和作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、方式、让步、目的、结果、比较状语从句。

2.从句的常用引导词：when，as，while，as soon as，before，after，since，till，until表时间；where表地点；because，since，as，for表原因；if，unless表条件；as，as if，how表方式；though，although，even if，even though表让步；so that，in order that 表目的；so...that，such...that表结果；as(同级比较)，than(不同程度的比较)表比较。

②The man carried the box away as he was told.(方式状语从句)按告知的那样，那人把箱子带走了。

③He didn’t stop working though (although) he was ill.(让步状语从句)

④He started early so that he might arrive in time.(目的状语从句)

他动身很早以便及时到达。
