that pron. “那，那个”，是表示远指的指示代词，与this 相对应。

family 指家庭时是一个整体概念，是单数。

The family is rich.这个家庭很富有。

family 也可以指“家人”，指家庭成员，是复数。

2.Who's she ？她是谁？ 本句是由特殊疑问词who 引导的特殊疑问句。

who pron. “谁，什么人”，提问表示人的名词。who 作主语，常看作是第三

人称单数，谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。

whom pron. “谁”，是who 的宾格形式，提问表示人物的宾语。在口语中，常用who 代替whom 。

this 和that ，these 和those

形式，指代较远的两个或两个以上的brothers 是brother 的复数形式。单数名词表示一个人或事物；复数名词表

示两个或两个以上的人或事物。名词单数变为复数，一般在名词后面加s ，如：girl→girls，map→maps 等。

这是用来介绍他人的常用句型。当我们把一个人介绍给另一个人时，常用句型

T his is...“这是……”。如果介绍距离我们较远的人时，我们用That is/That's...“那是……”，而一般不用“She is... ”或“He is...”。在正式场合介绍的称呼语有Mr./Mrs./Ms./Miss 等，但在介绍同辈人时，常常连名带姓的介绍，不再加称呼语。

grandparent n．“祖父(母)，外祖父(母)”，是单数形式，grandparent＝grandfather or grandmother，复数形式grandparents＝grandfather and grandmother，指的是“祖父母；外祖父母”。

They are my grandparents.

他们是我的祖父母。

parent n. 父亲或母亲，是单数形式，parent＝father or mother，复数形式parents ＝father and mother，指的是“父母双亲”。

Those are his parents.

那是他的父母。

they pron. 他(她、它)

是人称代词主格，作主语，既可指人，又可指物。

They are my grandparents.他们是我的祖父母。

they 指代的全是复数的人或物，系动词要用are。且两者在陈述句中可缩写为they're。

They're my keys.它们是我的钥匙。

在回答以these/those作主语的问句时，要用什么来代替these/those呢？对了，要用they。

解析：根据前句句意“他的妈妈是琳达，他的爸爸是吉姆。”可知“他们是他的父母”。排除A、C、D三项。

解析：上半句中的the keys 即是后半句中her keys ，the keys 是复数，故排除A 、D 两项；the keys 指物，排除B 项。

一、初识名词复数

汉语中可以在名词前加数词或形容词表示名词的量，例如：三头牛、五匹马、一群鹅、很多羊等。而在英语中，我们可以通过把可数名词单数变为复数来表达名词的量。英语中的可数名词有单数和复数两种形式：表示一个人或物用单数形式；表示两个或两个以上的人或物用复数形式。名词由单数形式变复数形式时，有一定的规律可循。

1．一般在词尾加s 。如：

book —books parent —parents

2．以s ，x ，ch ，sh 等结尾的词加es 。如：

watch —watches box —boxes class —classes

3．以ce ，se ，ze ，(d)ge 等结尾的词加s 。如：

orange —oranges case —cases

4．以o 结尾的词，加s 或es 。

初中阶段加es 的词：hero(英雄)，tomato(西红柿)和potato(土豆)。

5．以辅音字母加y 结尾的词，变y 为i ，加es ；但以元音字母加y 结尾的词，直接加-s 。如：

family —families city —cities boy —

boys

除了名词有复数形式外，部分代词和be 动词也有复数形式。this →these；that →those；is/am →are 等。所以单数句变为复数句时，一定要注意到整个句子的各个部分。单数句变复数句遵循的规则：

一变：将单数句中的指示代词、人称代词、物主代词、名词以及系动词变为相应的复数形式。

That's my photo.→Those are our photos.

一删：将单数句中的不定冠词a/an 删去。

It's a pen.→They are pens.

六不变：保留句中的形容词、定冠词、副词、疑问词、介词短语和叹词。

What's this in English ？→What ar e these in English?

规则归规则，但有时候可以改变。如：物主代词也可不变。
