The Tang Dynasty and Qing Dynasty are Different

There are two strongest dynasties in Chinese history. They are the Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. Though they looks similar, there are much more differences than similarities. In face, they are different in almost every aspect such as economy, politic, culture and the relationship between nationalities.

The Qing Dynasty is about 1000 years later than the Tang Dynasty, the economic situation has changed a lot. In the Tang Dynasty, the basic economic basis is Small Peasant Economy while the Capitalist Economy is growing in the Qing Dynasty and the Small Peasant Economy is becoming weaker and weaker. There are regular zones and time for markets. There is no regulation about market in the Qing Dynasty. The international treatment in the Tang Dynasty is much more prosperous than in the Qing Dynasty. For example, there is a famous land route called Skill Route for treatment between China and other countries which is most prosperous in the Tang Dynasty. In Qing Dynasty the Emperor Shunzhi stop most business to foreign countries and hold antiforeign policy. The two dynasties have different tax policies especially the farm tax. In Tang Dynasty, people can use production instead of money as their tax. The tax is based on the population. But in Qing Dynasty, farmers have to give money to government which is more difficult for farmers. The amount of tax in Qing Dynasty is based on the area of farmland.

The politics is also different between the Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. In Tang Dynasty, there is a close contact between education and politic. People have different kinds of knowledge can transfer to civil services by exams. However, there is not many connections between education and politic in the Qing Dynasty. Though people have to pass the exam, they can not tell much about society. As morality is an important part of traditional Chinese education, the Qing Dynasty exam gives a

chance to the people without any morality. There are many corrupt officials in the Qing Dynasty and it damages the regime. Politicalcivilizations of the Qing Dynasty and Tang Dynasty are quite different between each other. For example, the power of Emperor of the Qing Dynasty is much stronger than the Emperor of Tang Dynasty. The Emperor of Qing Dynasty can decide everything of his country while the Emperor of Tang Dynasty has to discuss some important works with chancellors.

The culture of the Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty has much difference, too. The famous literature pattern in the Tang Dynasty is poem. Poem writing is very popular in the Tang Dynasty and there are lots of excellent poets. The culture environment is free and active. However, culture in the Qing Dynasty is hard and fanciful. People do not dare to express their view especially about society and policy As the policy situation, there are some excellent novels reflect the society. There are a lot of important inventions in the Tang Dynasty. Many inventions in the Tang Dynasty influence the word history such as Painting Skill, Paper and powder. The science in the Tang Dynasty is the most advanced science in the world at that period. There are rarely inventions in the Qing Dynasty and they are not very important. The two dynasties has different attitude to foreign cultures. In Tang Dynasty, the government welcomes foreign cultures. They influence Chinese culture and help its improvement. The Qing Dynasty tries to prevent the spread of foreign cultures. Though the Emperor Kangxi likes foreign cultures, he regards learning them as a private hobby. They think the foreign culture will infect their political power. However, the policy deprives the chance for Chinese culture to develop quickly.

The Tang Dynasty has harmonious nationalities relationship. The government of Tang Dynasty insists on that nationalities are equally who have same right and respect everyone. Man Nationality, the nationality of the emperors of the Qing Dynasty, is the

nobility nationality. They are given allowance by the government so that they do not need to work.

The issue about the different between the Qing Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty is very complex and hard to explain. However, it can be understand by examples. There are differences in economy, politic, culture, relationship between nationalities and other important aspects of social which can prove the Tang Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty are two different dynasties.
