Did you plant a few trees on Tree-planting Day? Every year, millions of people, both young and old, plant a lot of trees. But this may not be the best way to make our Earth a greener place.

Last week we visited a park in Hebei Province. We were surprised to see some workers digging most of the trees. The workers told us that the trees died soon after people planted them. However,they didn’t take good care of them. So the workers dug them and cleaned the place for new trees this year.

Ken loves watching TV. His parents think he spends too much time on TV.

One day, Ken’s mother reads a newspaper. In the newspaper, there is a story about a boy. The boy never watches TV. Do you know how to protect animals in danger? Here is some advice for students.

★Send a letter to the environment protecting centre and show how you feel about the fact that animals are becoming extinct quickly. Use facts to write what you have found. For example, pandas, blue whales and tigers are dying out quickly these days. And help the officers make strong rules to save the animals.
