apply需加for,意思是“申请”;do做; offer提供。

3.C 由下文“Most of us develop poor reading…”

some一些,少量的;a lot of 许多;dull单调的。 只有little(很少)是否定词,合乎逻辑。

9.C scale down按比例减少;cut down削减。

13.A 与前半句中的not only相呼应,构成句式not only…but…“不仅……而且……”,只能选but,而nor、or或for均不能与前面的not only搭配。

14.B take与后面的for instance构成短语,意为“以……

refer to参考;go over复习;set about着手做。

用if,unless,before,after,until,although,though,as,since,because,so,so that 等构成含状语从句的复合句(这里要注意区分一下复杂句和复合句,复合句是包含在复杂句这个概念里面的,在下文的基础写作部分有提到)。 (3)用who,which,that,when,where,why等构成含定语从句的复合句。

The Internet has become part of young people’s life. ____1____ report shows that 38% of students often use the Internet . If you studied pictures that ancient people left on rock walls and you tried to determine their meaning, you would not detect a deep interest in romance among the artists. 51 , you would see plenty of animals with people running after them.
