2016职称英语考试技巧之单词记忆六大方法

2016职称英语考试技巧之单词记忆六大方法词汇选择考察应试者在一定语境下对单词或短语的理解。从表面上,这是词汇的考题,实际上这是一种最简单的阅读理解题。这里要给大家澄清一个概念,任何一种语言的语义最小单元是句子,而不是词。但是词汇或短语的理解对于句子的理解起着重要的作用。

词汇不足的人在英文听、说、读、写各方面的能力都会受到严重限制。一般大多数人认为背单词既吃力,又成效不大。实际上,若能采用适当的方法,不仅可以缩短扩大词汇量所需的时间,并且能提高记忆单词的质量。

一、结合记忆法

将比较生疏,不常用的单词放入一定的语言环境——句子中,结合句意来记忆单词。遇到此单词时,若词义忘记,则可通过回忆所在句子的意思来记忆单词。例如:slope

n. ①倾斜;坡度;斜度

There is always a certain slope in a ship's deck. 船的甲板总有几分倾斜。

②斜面;斜坡

We climbed the steep slope of the hill. 我们爬了那座陡峭的斜坡。

vi. 倾斜。

The railroad slopes up slightly at this point. 铁路在此处有轻微的倾斜。

通过此法来掌握词汇,既有助于记住单词本身的拼写、拼读,又可同时熟悉词的词义、词性、用法和搭配,比孤立地背记单词效果要好。

二、同类记忆法

将同类词汇收集在一起,同时背记。注意,同类词汇与同义词不同:同义词是指意思相同,而同类词是指基本属性相同、具体意义的层次,级别或范围不同的一类词汇。

如headmaster和principal是同义词,都表示,“中小学校长”;president和chancellor是同义词,都表示大专院校“校长”。这两组词是同类词汇,都表示“校长”,但具体级别不同,所以两组词不是同义词。

再如bachelor(学士)、master(硕士),doctor (博士)三个词都表示学位授予的情况,但具体级别不同,所以这三个词也是一组同类词汇。

这样,将同类词汇放在一起记忆,当遇到其中一个词时,头脑中出现的就是一组词,效率大大提高了。

三、比较记忆法

把同义词或形似词放在一起,加以区别。记忆的过程是一组组,一对对单词同时记忆。职称英语中有很大一部分都是对同义词或近义词的考察,需要平时进行记忆和积累。

四、构词法记忆法

通过掌握构词法来记忆单词。英语主要有三种构词法:

1)转化,即由一个词类转化为另一个词类。例如:

picture (n)画-picture (v)描绘

water (n)水-water (v)浇水

2)派生,即通过加前缀或后缀构成另一个词,例如:

happy→ unhappy(加前缀) happiness(加后缀)

3)合成,即由两个或更多的词合成一个词。例如:

wood(木)+cut(刻)→ wo odcut(木刻)

pea(豌豆)+nuts(坚果)→ peanut(花生)

五、根义记忆法

利用根义代替记忆多义,可以解决“没有生词”却老读不懂的问题。

比如要问immediate(ly)是否已记住,回答当然是肯定的。那么就请看下面三个“没有生词”的片段:

a) The woman walks immediately behind the car.

b) She is my immediate neighbor.

c) the immediate cause

若没有读懂,那么就请看immediate(ly)根义

中间没有间隔(地)

1)(时间)立刻;

2)(空间)紧挨,通接,紧跟,

3)(关系)直接

六、几组对容易混淆词进行特别记忆

(1)有些字可当形容词又可当副词,例如:early; past; half; long; straight; fast; hard; quick; deep; slow; pretty; awful; wrong; right; high; late; hourly; early; weekly; etc.

(2)有些形容词变为副词, 可在字尾加ly, 也可以不加, 不过在字义上不同。

(A) easy “安适地”; easily “容易地”:

(B) clear ( = completely “完全地”; clearly“显然地”;)

(C) high “高”; highly “很;非常”;

(D) Slow 和slowly当副词时同义, 但slow比slowly语气强.

(E) hard “辛苦地”; hardly “几乎不”;

(F) just “刚才;仅”; justly “公正地”;

(G) late “迟”; lately (= recently)“最近地”;

(H) Pretty (= fairly, moderately)“十分,颇”; prettily (= in a pretty way, attractively)“漂亮地”。

2016年全国职称英语考试必过技巧 1、试题概况及答题顺序 1.1、必杀技:见下表中“答题顺序”: 1.2、详解 1.2.1、词汇、阅读理解、完型填空所占分值最高(合计高达75分),放到前面来做,避免万一时间不够,可以确保先抓住大部分分数。 1.2.2、词汇、阅读理解、完型填空都是部分来自教材,放到前面来做,记忆比较深刻,答题成功率较高。 1.2.3、阅读判断放到最后,是因为本题根据经验蒙答案(具体方法后面详述)成功率可拿到全部7分中的3分,这样可以腾出时间给需要查词典即可稳拿分数的词汇题,所以阅读判断的答题时间只有1分钟。 2、词汇(1分/题*15=15分) 2.1、必杀技: 2.1.1、准备一本正式出版的英语同义词词典,推荐牛津出版社出版,外研社翻译出版的《牛津英语同义词词典》。 2.1.2、教材练习不用做,把答案勾画出来,只需记住其中题目划线部分或者答案是词组的,其余不用看。 2.1.3、考试时看到有教材中的词组题则直接答上,其余的查词典。 2.2、详解: 2.2.1、职称英语考试允许带一本正式出版的,并非针对职称英语考试而编写的词典。而本题考核内容就是同义词(词组),显然使用同义词典效率更高。 2.2.2、词组记忆相对容易而查词典找同义词组相对较困难,又因试题来自教

材练习4-9题,所以必须记住教材中的词组题。教材词汇练习一共100题,其中有词组的也就20个左右,记住绝对没有困难; 2.2.3、因职称英语词汇数量有限,直接查同义词词典,一般前三个义项就会有答案。 3、阅读理解(3分/题*15题=45分) 3.1、必杀技: 3.1.1、熟记教材文章练习题的正确答案,重点掌握去年教材上没有的新增文章,考试时先找教材上的文章,做出来。 3.1.2、其他文章,先作考试题目中有人名、地名、国家名、数字、年代等专有名词的题。 3.1.3、勾画出考试题目中的关键词(一般是名词,不必认识它也不必查词典),然后到文章中找一样的关键词定位。 3.1.4、定位关键词后,对比文章中关键词附近的词或词组,与答案选项中词或者词组重合的最多的即为正确答案。(就像玩拼图游戏,考察你的眼力!ˇ?ˇ) 3.1.5、如果你无法定位关键词,则: 3.1.5.1、如有选项为“以上X项皆是”,即为正确答案, 3.1.5.2、看四个答案选项中有无大部分相似的。如有,若意思完全相反的其中一个必是答案;若意思并非相反的则较长选项为答案,如没有大部分相似的,则最长的选项为答案。 3.1.6、如果考试题目是针对文章中的某个单词的意思,那么就相当于是一个词汇题,则同义词词典又派上用场了! 3.1.7如果考试题目是问文章主旨(如作者的观点,替换文章标题等)的,则需要细读文章题目,每段第一句和文章最后一句,并大致搞清意思。然后选择意思最接近的一项答案。 3.2、详解: 3.2.1、考题共3篇文章,其中1篇(5个题占15分)来自教材。根据历年经验,教材新增文章作为考题的概率较大。所以熟记教材上所有文章(以教材新增文章为重点)的练习题答案,即可保证稳拿15分!注意:因为考试会把ABCD4个答案选项次序打乱,所以不要只记正确答案的ABCD编号,而要记住正确答案
