Greeting with the students:Hello, everyone.Welcome back to school.I'm very happy to see you again.Most of you got good grades last term ! Of course, don't lose your heart if you didn't get good grades.

OK.Today, let's talk about how to study for a test and how to learn English well.

Step 2 呈现与输入(Presentation)

1.要求学生翻开课本P1,迅速阅读1a部分的内容。并按要求完成课本上相应的任务。(1分钟)

2.检查答案,先要求全班一起给出答案并检查讨论。然后要求2-3名同学就“What are the other ways you sometimes study?”给出自己的答案,并把收集的答案列举在黑板上。(3分钟)

3.要求学生听第一遍录音,并完成课本上1b的听力任务。(1分钟)

4.要求学生听第二遍录音,并逐句进行跟读。

5.完成教材1c的任务,要求学生模仿听力内容,使用“—How do you study for a test? —I study by …”进行对话练习。并邀请2-3对同学当堂进行演示。

6.小结训练。要求学生在规定的时间内完成一个小练习。并请若干学生给出自己的各项答案。有错误的及时纠正。

1.大声朗读听力材料。

2.放下听力材料,要求学生模仿听力内容提要,利用2a, 2b的信息分角色练习对话,完成2c的练习。然后邀请2-3名同学当堂演示,看哪一对表现的最佳。

3.播放2d的对话录音,让学生跟读,模仿并理解大意。然后让学生分角色朗读并表演2d的对话。

4.对话内容巩固训练。要求学生根据需要和2d对话内容完成下列各题。巩固对话内容。

【点拨】ask sb.for sth.意为“向某人要某物,要求某人某事”。

What about reading aloud to practice pronunciation?大声朗读来练习发音怎么样?

【点拨】practice既可用作动词,也可用作名词,意思都是“练习,实习”。

(1)作动词时,多用于美式英语,其后通常跟名词、代词或动名词,不接动词不定式,即practice doing sth.。

e.g.They practice speaking English every morning.他们每天早上练习说英语。

(2)作名词时,为不可数名词,意为“练习”。

e.g.I do practice in speaking English every day.我每天练习讲英语。

Practice makes perfect.熟能生巧。

Step 1准备与热身(Preparation)

(1)First let students have a free talk about how they learn English or how they improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing.Then give the students some pictures and let some pairs to talk about how the person(s) in the pictures learn English.

How do you/ they study English? I /They study by ______________________.

How does he/ she study English? He/ She studies by______________________.

(2) Show students some pictures to present some new words such as look up, grammar, expression by asking some questions like What's she doing? Do you know how I learn English? How are they feeling? How do you know?

(3) Show students the picture in the book and the title of the passage to lead into the new lesson by asking some questions like What's she doing? How is she feeling? How do you think the girl is learning English? What's the passage about?

短文内容巩固练习。教师可给出一篇改写了的短文,将一些重点的表达方式突出。让学生在规定的时间内补全短文,然后邀请若干同学给出自己的答案。

要求学生朗读并翻译表格中的句子。并在by studying, by reading, by listening 下面画线,并说出它们分别代表什么句式和语法内容。并能造出相仿的句子。简要归纳一下by引导的方式状语和动名词的用法,完成本单元学生用书单元语法小专题Grammar Focus 的精讲专练部分。

Step 6练习与体验(Practice)

1.要求学生翻开课本P4,将4a左栏中的问题和右栏的回答进行配对。要求2-3名同学给出自己的答案。

2.要求6名同学就4b的任务在课堂上用by引导的方式讲述一下自己是如何学习方框中的那些科目的。

3.要求学生分组讨论自己是如何学习英语的。并相互采访,写出报告。如果时间允许,请几位同学在班上把自己的报告念出来。

so …that …意思是“如此/这么……以致于……”(表结果)

e.g.The boy ran so fast that I couldn't catch him.这个男孩跑得如此快以致于我赶不上他。

He was so angry that he couldn't say a word.他如此生气以致于他不能说一句话。

so that …以便,为了(既可表目的,也可表结果)

e.g.I speak loud so that all the students can hear me clearly.

我说话如此大声以便所有学生都能听清。(目的状语从句)

He worked hard so that he went to Tsinghua University.

他学习如此努力以致于考上了清华大学。(结果状语从句)

because和because of的用法

because意思是“因为”,后面接原因状语从句。

because of介词短语,意思也是“因为”,后面可接名词、代词或动名词,不能接句子。

too也用于肯定句,位置通常在句末,前边常用逗号。

either也用于否定句,位置通常在句末,可用逗号隔开。

also也用于肯定句,位置通常在句中。

as well也,还常用于句末,不能用逗号隔开。

e.g.You can speak English, too.你也会说英语。

I don't like red and I don't like pink, either.我不喜欢红色,我也不喜欢粉色。

He has also seen the movie.他也看过那部电影。

He gave me books and advice as well.他给了我一些书也给了我一些忠告。

1.听第三遍录音,并打开听力材料,全班逐句进行跟读。

2.放下听力材料,要求学生模仿听力内容,利用1c, 1d的信息分角色练习对话,完成1e部分的任务。然后邀请2-3对同学当堂演示。看哪一组的表现最佳。

【点拨】make mistakes意为“犯错;出错”,是动词短语,mistake是可数名词,还可写成make a mistake。表示“在某方面犯错误”用介词in。

【拓展】动词不定式前面有时加上连接代词what, which或连接副词when, where, how,构成不定式短语作宾语,用于know, tell, wonder, ask, find out, learn等动词之后作宾语,有时也作主语。
