Stage I Warm-up
1.Play a video clip. Students guess what kind of movies
follows next.
2.Students work in pairs and discuss the three questions in
2a.
Stage II Scanning
1.Students tell something about Walt Disney.
2.Have students complete the time line about Mickey.
3.Tell students some background knowledge about films,
Mickey, and Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Stage III Pairwork
Students work together discussing the symbols of
China or Chinese people.
Stage IV Skimming
Students read more about Mickey and fill in the facts
about Mickey.
Stage V Production
Students work together and try to answer the following 3 questions:
A: What does it mean by “The man behind Mickey was Walt Disney.”?
B: Why did people want to be like Mickey? Do you want to be like Mickey? Why?
C: Why is Mickey called “little man”?
Why do people want to see him win?
