M: I have. But it doesn't work.

(Text 2)

M: I didn't see Tom at his desk. The manager finally raised his salary?

W: No way! They had a heated debate. And the manager decided to fire him.

(Text 3)

W: Hi, Jim! How is your summer vacation?

M: Oh, I did nothing but study.

(Text 4)

M: Shall we go for a walk?

W: Can you wait for a few minutes? I want to finish writing this letter first.

W: It won't be long. Why don't you go ahead and I'll meet you in the park?

(Text 5)

W: Can I help you?

Do you think the stain will e out?

M: Yes, I accidentally poured wine on this suit.

W: No problem. You can pick it up in two days.

M: Good! I will need it for my sister's wedding this Sunday.

(Text 6)

M: Have you made any plan for the ing holiday? I've heen thinking of hiking.

W: I really have no time to think about it. I've been thinking about how to pass my exams, especially English

literature, but I'll probably go to the beach after the exams.

M: Why the beach?

W: Well, it would be nice to be away from this cold weather and just lie in the sun and relax after working so

hard. [来源:]M: That's true. Well, hiking is rather tiring since you have to walk all the time. Mm... probably I'll have to

change my mind.

W: So, why not go to the beach with me?

M: That's a good idea.

M: Poems are fun to listen to or read, but to write is not that easy. I tried some times, but still don't have any

W: Well, how about the Drama Club? There are many students interested in this club.

M: Why is it so attractive?

W: It is a great challenge to perform on the stage. And if you got a chance to act in a drama, you would be a

star in the college.

M: Wow, you would be a big shot sooner or later if you join the Drama Club.

W: Stop joking. You are tall and smart. There will be more chances for you to bee a star in campus drama.

M: Thank you. Maybe I will join it.

(Text 10)

In Australia, different people have their own ways of enjoyment and their own world in which to pass the time.

Most children work hard in school since they have to take various exams. After school they don't want to

stay at home reading books any more. Instead, they put aside their schoolbags and go quickly to some quiet street

corner to play games.

Some old people get up early in the morning and go to parks to read newspapers. After breakfast, they

go to

horse races, dog races or even car races. If they win, they can buy themselves a good dinner. In the evening, they

stay home, watching TV, sometimes with their grandchildren.

Young people prefer to go on outings on the weekends. They go to the seashore for swimming, the

forest for hunting and camping, or mountainous areas for a picnic. Then on Sunday evening, they start their long

drive back home on the highways. Nobody seems in a hurry.

A

For a while, my neighborhood was taken over by an army of joggers(慢跑者). They were there all the time:

early morning, noon, and evening. There were little old ladies in gray sweats, young couples in Adidas shoes,

middle-aged men with red faces. “e on!”My friend Alex encouraged me to join him as he jogged by my house

every evening. “You'll feel great.”

Well, I had nothing against feeling great and if Alex could jog every day, anyone could. So I took up jogging

seriously and gave it a good try two months of my life, and not a day more. Based on my experience, jogging is the

most overvalued form of exercise around, and judging from the number of the people who left our neighborhood

jogging army, I'm not alone, in my opinion.

First of all, jogging is very hard on the body. Your legs and feet take a real pounding (重击) running down a

road for two or three miles. I developed foot, leg, and back problems. Then I read about a nationally famous jogger

who died of a heart attack while jogging, and I had something else to worry about. Jogging doesn't kill hundreds of

people, but if you have any physical weaknesses, jogging will surely bring them out, as they did with me.

Secondly, I got no enjoyment out of jogging. Putting one foot in front of the other for forty-five minutes isn't

my idea of fun. Jogging is also a lonely pastime. Some joggers say, “I love being out there with just my thoughts.”

Well, my thoughts began to bore me, and most of them were on how much my legs hurt.

And how could I enjoy something that brought me pain? And that wasn't just the first week;it was practically

every day for two months. I never got past the pain level, and pain isn't fun. What a cruel way to do it! So many

other exercises, including walking, lead to almost the same results painlessly, so why jog?

I don't jog any more, and I don't think I ever will. I'm walking two miles three times a week at a fast pace, and

that feels good. I bicycle to work when the weather is good. I'm getting exercise, and I'm enjoying it at the same

time. I could never say the same for jogging, and I've found a lot of better ways to stay in shape. [来源:]21.The underlined word “them”(Paragraph 3) most probably refers to ________.

Here is some news of the future. [来源:]March 20, 2035

There was a lot of news around the life extension drugs that hit the market a decade ago. They didn't promise

that you would live forever, but they gave you a chance to extend your life an extra five to ten years. Even though

the life expectancy rate at birth has increased greatly, the life expectancy for seniors hasn't improved that much.

Basically, you have a greater chance to bee a senior, but you will not have a much longer lifespan, and this is where

the anti-aging drugs intend to kick in. So, do the anti-aging drugs work? Well, it is too early to tell. But the sales

so far are very good.

Of the total US population of 378 million, people over 65 years of age now make up 20% for the first time.

The number of people above 65 pared to those of what is considered working ages, between 15 and 64, is

currently 33.7%. This is up from 185% since year 2005, which means that for every retired person there are now

million; making them 6.3% of the total population pared to 3.6% in 2005.

Although introduced in the market only five years ago, 10% of all hydrogen fuel now sold in the US is of the

environmentally friendly Re-Hydro label, produced through eletrolysis (电解) based on a source of 100%

renewable energy. Several producers have turned to producing Re-Hydro mainly because of lower tax, which also

keeps the price of Re-Hydro on the same level as regular hydrogen. Most analysts believe that

Re-Hydro will be

the dominating fuel in the future.

A. people have no faith in them

B. people want to give them a try

C. they work very well for seniors

D. they have no effect on people's health

26.What can we learn from News 2?

Do you want a bit of an adventure? Would you like to discover all the corners of the UK, or travel abroad?

Maybe you have never tried the motorhome lifestyle before. Well, read this article and you will know why a

also very fortable. If you are thinking about hiring a motorhome this summer, then the best choice is to book it early,

There are a lot of panies throughout the UK, and some of the big ones have motorhomes spread all over the

Cambridge. If you are in the UK, you may phone 0800612—8719 for details of its motorhome hire information.

Motorhome has a network of over 500 vehicles all over England, Scotland and Wales.

Most people wishing to hire a motorhome are families that are looking for an alternative to a European

package holiday, especially as flying now has bee more expensive, and is considered to be environmentally

unfriendly. There is no doubt that the idea of no-fly holidays is going to bee more popular as fewer people think it is

safe to fly. This explains why more and more people are choosing to hire a motorhome for their holidays.

The main purpose of this text is to explain why it is a good idea to ________.

A. take an adventure

B. travel to England

D. hire a motorhome

MOOCs, short for “massive open online courses,”mark an important, possibly revolutionary, development in

education. These courses are on line, free of charge, and open to anyone in the world who has a laptop and an

Internet connection. Moreover, they are mainly offered by great universities like Stanford, Berkeley, Harvard and

Columbia.

The courses are arranged according to how difficult they are, enabling students to progress from beginners to

the advanced. The courses cover not only a broad range of science subjects such as math and puter science, but also

courses in social sciences and humanities. Though MOOCs are not offered for credit and degree, many students

enroll(加入) in the courses for real skills or knowledge which they can put to some practical use.

The format(形式) seems better than the traditional school class. The average quality of the lecturers is much

higher. Besides, students can learn back and forward—that is, they can go at their own learning speed, which they

can't do in a live lecture. And, more importantly, they don't have to travel anywhere to attend an online lecture.

There is a problem of asking questions of the lecturer in a class of ten thousand students, but some MOOCs have

solved it by allowing students to post questions on line for a vote, and only the most popular questions are put to

the lecturer.

In a knowledge age, lifelong learning is not confined to a traditional classroom. Students taking MOOCS are

usually very clever, have work experience, and in many cases, have already developed a set of practical skills.

Moreover, they also offer unique international perspectives(远景) that would be the envy of any school classroom.

33.Which of the following statements is NOT true about MOOCs?

A.The word “MOOCs”is short for “massive open online campuses”.

B.Anyone who has a puter and an Internet connection can take MOOCs.

C.MOOCs are usually offered by first-class universities in the world.

D.MOOCs may be a breakthrough in the development of education.

34.MOOCs seem to have an advantage over traditional school classes in that ________.

A.there is a problem of asking questions in traditional classes

B.students enrolling in MOOCs can get credit and degree easily

C.students can learn at their own study pace

D.students can travel to many places when taking MOOCs

35.The meaning of the underlined word “confined”means ________.

A.extended B.developed

D .advanced

.Climited

For healthier kids, put away the car and walk to school

Only a quarter of Canadian kids walk or bike to school and that's not enough, according to a new “report card

on physical activity for children and youth.”

Active Healthy Kids Canada(AHKC) is a Canadian charity that encouraged children and their parents more

exercise.

Their report found that only 24 percent of 5-to 17-year-olds in Canada use “active transportation”to get to

school. __36__ On the other hand, their parents were twice as likely to walk to school when they were children.

__37__ This year's theme, “driving,”looked at how much exercise kids are getting when they travel to and

from different places near their homes.

There are many things the report listed as possible reasons why children wouldn't use active transportation.

__38__ Many children live too far away from their school to be able to get there by walking or biking.

Another reason is that sometimes driving is easier. __39__

A third reason is safety. Many parents prefer not to let their children walk to school, especially if they are

young.

AHKC has some suggestions about how children can work with their parents to make active transportation a

bigger part of their life.

One is for parents to drive close(but not all the way) to school, and have children get out and walk the remaining distance.

Another is for parents to take turns looking after and walking with children so that they can travel safely.

The easiest and best thing to do is for parents to tell their children to try to walk or bike to different places

whenever possible—not just when they are going to school.__40__

A.And children can tell their parents to walk more, too!

B.The biggest one is the distance between schools and homes.

C.“Active transportation”means not using cars, trains or buses.

D.Keep a journal of when you went and how long each walk took.

E.Parents may drop their children off at school, on their way to work.

F.Every year in its report card, AHKC focuses on one aspect of healthy living.

G.In Canada over 30% of children and youth are considered overweight or obese.

for many

years. About half a year ago, an order came which the old building, along with many other similar ones, were going

to be pulled down to make room for a main street.

So I had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His new apartment is much

Yang doesn't seem to worry about the long distance. He says that new subway line is to be built in a few year and

由题干中的“February”可将答案锁定在“February 6th”的话题“An Update on the Costwold Canals”中。 再结合“I was planning to have dinner that very night.” 由“…with an exhibition bring together over 200 paintings, sculptures, drawings and more.” 29. A。 根据第一段“…the visitors will find the best pieces, most importantly the Persistence of Memory”可知,该作品在Dali的最佳作品中是最重要的,由此可以推断它是Dali的杰作之一。 30. D。 根据第二段末句中的“…follo ws a path of time and subject.” 31. A。 33. A。 由第二段“Over the years, Parisian cafes have fallen victim to changes in the French lifestyle…”

Secret codes (密码)keep messages private。Banks, companies, and government agencies use secret codes in doing business, especially when information is sent by computer. People have used secret codes for thousands of years. 36 Code breaking never lags(落后) far behind code making. The science of creating and reading coded messages is called cryptography. There are three main types of cryptography. 37 For example, the first letters of “My elephant eats too many eels” Spell out the hidden message “Meet me.” 38 You might represent each letter with a number, for example. Let’s number the letters of the alphabet, in order, from 1 to 26. If we substitut e a number for each letter, the message “Meet me” would read “13 5 5 20 13 5.” A code uses symbols to replace words, phrases, or sentences. To read the message of a real code, you must have a code book. 39 For example, “bridge” might stand for “meet” and “out” might stand for “me.” The message “Bridge out” would actually mean “Meet me.”40 However, it is also hard to keep a code book secret for long. So codes must be changed frequently. A. It is very hard to break a code without the code book. B. In any language, some letters are used more than others. C. Only people who know the keyword can read the message. D. As long as there have been codes, people have tried to break them. E. You can hide a message by having the first letters of each word spell it out. F. With a code book, you might write down words that would stand for other words. G. Another way to hide a message is to use symbols to stand for specific letters of the alphabet. A Heroic Driver Larry works with Transport Drivers, Inc. 2015年高考全国卷2英语试题及答案(word精校版) 含详细解析 第Ⅰ卷 第一部分听力(共两节,满分30分)略 第二部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分) A My color television has given me nothing but a headache. I was able to buy it a little over a year ago because I had my relatives give me money for my birthday instead of clothes that wouldn’t fit. I let a salesclerk fool me into buying a discontinued model. I realized this a day later, when I saw newspaper advertisements for the set at seventy-five dollars less than I had paid. The set worked so beautiful when I first got it home that I would keep it on until stations signed off for the night. Fortunately, I didn’t get any channels showing all-night movies or I would never have gotten to bed. Then I started developing a problem with the set that involved static(静电) noise. For some reason, when certain shows switched into a commercial, a loud noise would sound for a few seconds. Gradually, this noise began to appear during a show, and to get rid of it, I had to change to another channel and then change it back. Sometimes this technique would not work, and I had to pick up the set and shake it to remove the sound. I actually began to build up my arm muscles(肌肉) shaking my set. When neither of these methods removed the static noise, I would sit helplessly and wait for the noise to go away. At last I ended up hitting the set with my first, and it stopped working altogether. My trip to the repair shop cost me $62, and the sit is working well now, but I keep expecting more trouble. 21. Why did the author say he was fooled into buying the TV set? A.He got an older model than he had expected. B.He couldn’t return it when it was broken. C.He could have bought it at a lower price. D.He failed to find any movie shows on it. 22. Which of the following an best replace the phrase “signed off” in paragraph 1? A.ended all their programs
