Unit 1 The world of our senses

Welcome to the unit

Teaching Aims:

◆To talk about our senses and the importance of them

◆To think about how to live without one or two senses.

◆To practise students’ speaking ability

Teaching Procedure:

Step One: Leading-in

Show students some pictures and let them talk a bout what senses are important. Step Two: Speaking

Ask students to talk about our sen ses and their usage.

Tell students sense s sometimes chea t us. Let them see how that happens.

Ask students to talk about the pictures one by one.

Step Three: Discus sion

Ask students to discuss what would happen if we lost the ability to use one of our senses.

Step Four: Homework

To find some information about famous pe ople who are disabled or lost one or two senses.
