It was a Sunday in March and the heavy storm had lasted all night. The morning after the storm, 41 , was beautiful: blue skies, warm air and a calm, 42 sea touching the shore gently.

The little baby whale —actually as big as our boat —was obviously 51 and could not move. The mother dived under the water and came up 52 , making big whirlpools (漩涡) and waves. “She’s trying to 53 her baby, but on the wrong side,” my father said. Slowly, they let 58 lead them. Once they hit their first part of clean water flowing straight from the sea, the mum gave us a 59 with her tail and off they swam into the distance.

That was the simple and lasting beauty of the day. Nearly four decades later, I still 60 fondly to that golden day at sea.

A. to home B. home to C. home D. homed 3.选A。 8.选A。 9.选D。本题是检验对have gone 和have been to的理解,have gone 意为“到, 去了”,指还没回来;have been to 指“去过, ”,现在已回来,当表示地点的词是副词时,省去to,因此本题选项D为正确答案。 10.
