Unit 5 Signs

一、单元教材分析

本单元的话题为“公共标识”。在教学过程中要紧密联系生活实际,引导学生关注标识,讨论标识,做遵守公共法规和秩序的社会公民。

本单元的新授句型有:What does … mean? It means…和No+doing(动名词)结构。前者要求学生灵活运用,后者只需学生认读理解即可。另外,本单元呈现了的情态动词can和can’t的新用法,表示允许和禁止的意思。教师可以结合学生以前所学的can的用法进行对比教学,帮助学生区分和理解两种用法。

本单元呈现的公共标识只是现实生活中众多标识的一小部分,教师可以要求学生课前将自己认识的标识画出来,带到课上和大家一起分享。还可鼓励学生去发现更多的公共标识,作为教材学习的有效补充和延伸,鼓励学生为班级、学校、街道、社区等场所设计和制作公共标识,学以致用,提高公民意识。

二、单元教学目标

1.知识目标

(1)能听懂、会说、会读、会写词汇:sign, shopping centre, careful, mean, floor,

around。

(2)能听懂、会说、会读词汇:letter, go in, take…into, restaurant, someone, smoke,

smell, outing, walk on。

(3)能听懂、会说、会读、会写句型和日常用语:What does it mean? / It means…/ No littering/ parking/ smoking/ …/ You can / can’t…。

(4)能听懂、会说、会读“Public signs”。

(5)能听懂、会说字母ir在单词中的读音,要求发音准确。

2.技能目标

(1) 能正确朗读课文,灵活运用本单元所学的句型整体复述语篇。

(2) 通过本单元的学习,让学生能够看懂一些常见的公共标识,并能用英语进行询问极其描述。

3.情感态度目标

(1) 通过学习公共标志常识,加强社会公德教育,提高学生自身的文明素养。

(2) 懂得“播下一种动作,收获一种习惯;播下一种习惯,收获一种品格。”的道理。

Unit 5 Signs

The first period

一、教学内容:六上Unit 5 Signs (Cartoon time)

二、教学目标

1.知识目标

(1)能初步感知并理解故事,能够体会故事中主要人物的不同情感,用不同的语气朗读并表演故事。

(2)能够简单地听、说、读单词及词组:sign, smell, at a shopping centre, be careful, mean, floor, around, take…into…, in a restaurant (3)能听懂、会说、会读:What does it mean? It means ……./ No eating or drinking./ No littering./ No parking./ No smoking./ Danger!/ Wet floor.

(4)能听懂、会说、会读“Public signs”。

2.技能目标

(1) 能借助提示,完整的复述本课对话

(2) 通过本课时的学习,让学生能够看懂一些常见的公共标识,并能用英语进行询问极其描述。

3.情感目标

(1)根据标志的意思,能够介绍、询问、给人以忠告和建议。

(2)通过学习公共标志常识,加强社会公德教育,提高学生自身的文明素养。

三、教学重点

通过本课时的学习,让学生能够看懂一些常见的公共标示,并能用英语进

行询问及其描述。

四、教学难点

能借助提示,完整的复述本课对话。

Step 1. Warming up

1. T: Welcome back to school.

2. Free talk.

(互相问候,由老师所创设的情景引导学生回忆假期生活)

Step 2. Presentation

1.T: Do you go to the shopping centre?

Ss: Yes.

T: Look, where are they going?

(课件上显示Mike、Helen和Tim去购物中心的图片)

S: They are going to the shopping centre.(教授shopping centre)

T: What can you see in the shopping centre?

S: ……

T: They can see some public signs.(教授public signs)

2.Watch and answer.

T: How many signs can they see in the text?

Let’s watch the cartoon and then you can answer.

(Ss watch and answer)

T: How many signs can they see?

S: Four.

3.Choose and talk.

T: What are they?(课件上逐张显示No eating or drinking, No littering, No parking, No smoking,Danger, Wet floor的图片,让学生选择)

4.课文中No parking和Danger!没有出现,教师先在此教授。

T: They can’t see these signs. What do they mean?

What does this sign mean?(板书举行)

S:学生用中文描述

T:Yes, it means ‘No parking.’.

(同法教授Danger!)

5.Discuss in group

T: These signs mean ‘No parking’ and ‘Danger’. How about these one?

(将学生分成四大组,每组讨论一副图片,分别讨论一个公共标志)

6.结合书本P50Look and write,与学生一同讨论文中的四个公共标志。

(1)T:What does it mean?

S: It means ‘Wet floor’.

T: What does that mean?

S: It means the floor is wet.

(讨论这一副图片的学生做小老师领读)

(2)(3)(4)同法教学第二、三、四幅图。

7.完成书本P50 Read and choose.

Step 3. Practise

教师根据板书的关键词关键句,引导学生复述课文。

呈现story time中学过的4个标志

T: Can you see that sign?

T: What does the sign mean?

2.复述课文

根据课文图片,用第三人称复述课文内容

S2: Mike sees a sign on the floor.

S3: It means the floor is wet.

S4: They should be careful.

S2: Helen wants to go in the bookshop with her juice.

S4: It means we can’t eat or drink in the bookshop.

S1: Helen feels sorry about that.

Step 2 New words

1.教授新单词No parking和Danger!

教师描述公共标志含义,要求学生指出相应的标识

T: You can find the sign in the Parking lot. It means you can’t park here.

S: (手指着禁止停车的标识)No parking.

同理教授Danger!

Step 3 Grammar time

1.act and guess

将学生分为两人一组,一位学生用肢体语言来演绎标识的含义,另一位学生猜测标识的名称。

2.头脑风暴,发现规律

向学生拓展介绍生活中其他常见的公共标识,或要求学生分享课前准备的公共标识。学生发现文字标识的构成规则:

·No +动名词/名词

归纳两种回答方式:

a. It means +句子

b. It means +引号+ No +动名词/名词

Step 4 Fun time

1.快速反应

将棋盘上的10个公共标识呈现在黑板上,让学生看一分钟,在一分钟内看谁识记的标识多就获胜。

2.讲解规则,示范游戏。

教师利用课件出示棋盘,带领学生观察start和finish,明确规则。教师也可通过课件设定骰子点数,与学生示范游戏过程。

3.小组活动

同桌之间开展棋盘游戏。

操练句型S1: What does the sign mean?

S2: It means……

1. Review “Grammar time”.

2. 与同桌操练“Fun time”.

Step 1 Review

[设计思路]:初步帮助学生归纳No 一般情况后加动词ing,为本课教学的学习作铺垫。

2.Make a short dialogue

Model 1: What does it mean?

It means you can’t eat or drink there.

Model 2:What do these signs mean?

They mean No parking.

[设计思路]:复习了动词的过去时之后让学生在练习中操练一下,帮助学生巩固知识。引导学生根据不同的时间关键词灵活运用本课句型。

3. Recite the story

[设计思路]:请学生背诵课文部分,以检查学生复习巩固的情况。

Step 2 Presentation

a. T: I’ve got a picture. Please look it over, then find out some information for

me. You can use these keys words to ask some questions like these?

(Key words :what ,when ,where ,who ,why…)

(根据图片上的信息,让学生找出when, where, who, what这几个关键因素) [设计思路]:将文字中的信息以问题的形式出现,目的一在于引导学生关注不同形式的信息表达;其二是降低寻找信息难度,便于厘清不同的信息类型,为

下文的教学作铺垫。

b. 信息找全之后呈现文本,观看动画,初步理解故事大意。教师可以用一下问题来检测学生对故事的整体理解。

c. 请学生跟读,自由模仿读,再进行小组比赛

d. 表演课文,续编故事。

e. 引出bird girl shirt shirt,请学生找一找相同的发音,从而引出字母组合ir的发音。再让学生说一说含有ir /3:/的单词。

Brainstorming

f:组织学生展开兰度比赛,看谁读得又快又准。

[设计思路]:该环节以学生为主,教师为辅,放开手让学生去发现规律,老师总结规律。对高年级学生来说更有利于他们自主学习能力的进一步发展。

Step 1: Review

1. 复习Cartoon time

T: Last class, we knew Bobby and Sam were on an outing in the forest. It was time for lunch. Bobby felt tired and hungry. What happened to them? Let’s try to act the story.

教师逐图出示请学生表演,其余学生旁白。

2. 复习学过的标识

T:Here’s a public sign.(出示Cartoon time出现的标识)Now try to say other public signs.

Ss: 让学生说一说已知的公共标识。

T: 学生说的同时引导其余学生就所说的标志再进行解释“It means …”

3. 归纳公共标识句型结构(课件出示已学过的标识)

公共标识句型常见的有:

No + 名词.

No + 动名词.

名词或名词短语.

祈使句:Please do (not) +V…

Do (not) + V…

对公共标识进行问答:

Step 2: Checkout time

1.Listen and choose

T: Well. Here are some public signs for you.(标识分为红色和蓝色两种不同的颜色)

There are two kinds of public signs.

The red ones and the blue ones.

What’s the difference between them?

S: The red signs mean we can’t do it.

The blue signs mean we can do it.

T: Great. Let’s listen and choose the right signs.

Ss: 学生根据录音内容选择正确的标识,并回答。

教读两种公共标识:Parking. Restaurant.

2.Draw and say

a.

T: 教读蓝色公共标识的同时板书这两个标识图片。

Here are two new signs. Look at this sign. What does it mean?(Parking.)
