1 What do you often do in your spare time? 你经常在空闲时间做什么呢？

in one’s spare time = in one’s free time 在某人的空闲时间里

e.g. I play basketball in my spare time. 我在空闲时间打篮球。

2 why not表示为什么不，后接动词原形，表示建议。

e.g. Why not go out for a walk? 为什么不出去散步呢?

表示建议的还有以下句型：

a. What/How about...? 后接v-ing ,意为“……怎么样呢？”

e.g. What about going swimming? =How about going swimming?

去游泳怎么样？

B. Shall we...? e.g. Shall we go to the zoo? 我们去动物园好吗？

c. Let’s ... 让我们……

e.g. Let’s go home. 我们回家去吧。

d. You’d better (not) ... 你最好（不要）……

e.g. You’d better give up smoking. 你最好戒烟。

e. You should... e.g. You should go home now. 你应该回家了。

3 Maybe I need a change. 或许我需要改变一下。

change在本句中为名词，意为“改变，变化，转变”。

e.g. a great change巨大的变化

change作名词时，还有“零钱”之意。

e.g. Here’s your change. 找您零钱。

change作动词时是“改变，变革，交换，替换”等意思。

change one’s mind改变主意；change one’s clothes换衣服

4 be interested in...对……感兴趣，后接名词、代词或动名词。

e.g. He is interested in fishing. 他对钓鱼感兴趣。

注意：interested与interesting的区别：

interested其主语一般是人，说明人“对……感兴趣”，一般只作表语，不作定语；interesting用于说明人或事物本身“有趣，有意义”，在句中既作定语，也可作表语。

e.g. That is an interesting book. We are all interested in it. 那是一本有趣的书，我们都对它感兴趣。

5 be fond of 喜欢，后接名词、代词或动名词。

e.g. Mr.Chen is fond of painting. 陈先生喜欢画画。

I’m fond of playing soccer. 我喜欢踢足球。

6 prefer v. 意为“更喜欢，宁愿”

a. 相当于like ... better后接名词、代词、动名词。

e.g. I prefer swimming. = I like swimming better.

b. prefer后接不定式时常与rather than或instead of连用。

e.g. He preferred to die rather than (to) steal. = He preferred to die instead of stealing. 他宁愿死也不愿去偷。

c. prefer sth. to sth. 比起某事来更喜欢某事

e.g. I prefer English to maths. 比起数学我更喜欢英语。

d. prefer doing sth. to doing sth. 与做某事比起来，更喜欢做……

e.g. I prefer swimming to skating. 比起滑冰我更喜欢游泳。

7 walk a pet dog 遛狗，相当于take a dog for a walk,

walk意为“牵着（动物）走，遛，赶着……走”

1 used to是“过去常常，曾经”的意思，表示现在已不是那样了，后接动词原形。

e.g. My father used to be a farmer, but now he is a worker.

我父亲过去是一位农民，但现在他是一名工人。

其否定式为didn’t use to或used not to。

He used to swim. 他过去常游泳。

He didn’t use to swim.=He usedn’t to swim. 他过去不常游泳。

e.g. He didn’t use to drink beer. = He usedn’t to drink beer.过去他不常喝酒。

其疑问式既可用助动词did,也可用used直接提问。

Did he use to swim?= Used he to swim? 他过去常游泳吗？

e.g. Did he use to live in Beijing?=Used he to live in Beijing?

过去他常住在北京吗？

肯定回答Yes, he did. / Yes, he used.

否定回答：No, he didn’t./ No, he usedn’t.
