A

My mother was a firm supporter of corporal punishment, but for all her talking she has never spanked(打屁股)my sisters, and me only once. Instead she found ways of punishment that left me a more lasting memory. One of the most memorable of these occasions occurred when I was four.

That day mother picked me up early from daycare because we were going to Sears&Roebuck to pay on a Christmas Layaway. I was excited by the lights and decorations, and as we walked through the toy section on the way to the Layaway Department, I saw a toy I had to have. It was a white and red telephone whose bells rang as it was pulled along on a string. Looking lovingly up at my mother I asked, “Mama, can I have that telephone?”

She replied, "Baby, not now, but if you are a good girl maybe Santa will bring it to you. " "But Mama, I want that telephone right now. " Her eyes narrowed and her hand tightened on mine. "Becky, you can’t have that telephone today, but if you misbehave you can have a spanking. "

By now we were standing in the long Holiday line in the Layaway Department, and I figure it was now or never. I lay down on the ground and began screaming, "I want that telephone, " over and over again. Weary Christmas shoppers looked as my mother calmly said, "Becky, you better get up by the count of three or else. One…Two…Three. "

Nothing. I was still in full tantrum. So then she lay down beside me on the floor, and began kicking and screaming, "I want a new car, I want a new house, I want some jewelry, I want…" Shocked, I stood up.

"Mama, stop. Mama get up, " I tearfully requested.

She stood, and brushed herself off. At first stunned, the others waiting in line began to clap, and before I knew it they were cheering and laughing and patting my mother on her back. She blushed and took a little bow and the next thirty minutes in line was pure misery for me as various parents leaving the Layaway Department, shake their heads at me and say with a smile, "Your mom got you good. I bet you’ll never try that again. "

And I didn’t, because it left a lasting mental picture more effective then any physical mark.

B

Why are people interested in eating raw foods or whole foods ? One reason is that eating these types of food reduces the risk of acid accumulation (积累;堆积)in your body.

Raw and whole foods are usually digested more than cooked and refined foods. When we cook foods, we destroy the natural enzymes(酶) that are part of the food in its raw form. These enzymes were intended by nature to help us digest the food. When we consume food without these natural enzymes , our bodies either digest the food improperly or allow too many nutrients to be absorbed into bloodstream. In both instances, the result is obesity. When too many nutrients are absorbed at once, the body grows fat. Improperly digested food moves slowly through the digestive tract, where it becomes increasingly acidic. To protect its vital organs from this acidic waste, the body changes the acid into fat and stores it safely away from the organs.

Processed foods contain chemical elements, which might confuse the appetite mechanism that tells us when we’ve had enough to eat; as a result, people often overeat. Processed foods also upset the digestive cycle. The body will either identify these foods as allergens and then store them safely away from the organs as fat, or the remains of undigested food will become acidic and enter the bloodstream as acid waste, which will stick to the blood vessel walls and block the passage of vital oxygen and nutrient s heading for the body’s cells. The body’s metabolism(新陈代谢)becomes inactive, and the result is weight gain and obesity.

The accumulation of acid in the digestive tract makes digestion increasingly inefficient. When that happens, even healthy foods can become acidic and the food allergies will become more common.

To stop this vicious circle in its tracks, people need to consume food and supplements that will neutralize the acid already accumulated in the body. Eating the right types of raw and whole foods can help. It’s also important to restore your enzyme balance. You need to identify and avoid the foods that increase enzyme production. If you truly want to change and help your body heal itself, you need to take an active approach.

25. It can be inferred from Para. 2 that _______.

A. it is essential for people to protect their vital organs

B. giving up cooked and refined foods is a new lifestyle

C. we’d better be cautious about raw and whole foods

D. foods with natural enzymes help people keep fit

26. Processed foods are unhealthy because they _______.

A. stop body’s metabolism.

B. are difficult to digest

C. may lead to obesity

D. destroy body’s cells

27. What is the main purpose of this passage?

A. To tell the differences between raw and processed foods.

B. To inform people of the harm of processed foods.

C. To warn people of the problem of obesity.

D. To advocate eating more raw and whole foods.

28. What is likely to be talked about following the last paragraph?

A. Suitable types of raw and whole foods.

B. Different causes of acid accumulation.

C. Active approaches to avoid acid.

D. Correct ways to cook raw foods.

One windy spring day, I observed young people having fun using the wind to fly their kites. Multicolored creations of varying shapes and sizes filled the skies like beautiful birds dashing and dancing in the exciting atmosphere above the earth. As the strong winds gusted against the kites, a string kept them in check.

Instead of blowing away with the wind, they arose against it to achieve great heights. They shook and pulled, but the controlling string and the clumsy tail kept them in tow(牵引),facing upward and against the wind. As the kites struggled and trembled against the string, they seemed to say, “Let me go!Let me go! I want to be free!” They flew beautifully even as they fought the forced restriction of the string. Finally, one of the kites succeeded in breaking loose. “Free at last!”, it seemed to say. “Free to fly with the wind. ”

Yet freedom from control simply put it at the mercy of an unsympathetic gentle wind. It flew ungracefully to the ground and landed in a twisted mass of weeds and string against a dead bush. “Free at last!” Free to lie powerless in the dirt, to be blown helplessly along the ground, and to settle down lifeless against the first roadblock.

How much like kites we sometimes are. There always exist misfortunes and restrictions, rules to follow from which we can grow and gain strength. Prohibition is necessary counterpart to the winds of opposition. Some of us pulled at the rules so hard that we never fly fast to reach the heights we might have obtained. If we keep all the commandment(戒律), we will

never rise high enough to get our tails off to the ground.

Let us each rise to the great heights, recognizing that some of the prohibitions are actually the steady force that help us climb and achieve.

33. In the passage the writer watched .

A. many young people enjoying the sunny day

B. many birds dashing and dancing in the sky

C. many young people flying multicolored kites

D. the strong winds blowing against the sky

34. What enables a kite fly gracefully in the sky according to the story?

A. The kite itself and strange shapes

B. A long string and blowing wind

C. A windy spring day and blue sky

D. The size and a long string

35. Which of the following is the best title of the passage?

A. Fly with Restrictions

B. Where to Fly

C. Why to Fly Kites

D. Fly to Freedom

第二节 书面表达 (满分25分)

Possible version:

A teenage Chinese tourist was reported to have scribbled on the wall of an ancient temple in Egypt, which has set off a world of criticism and become a hot topic ever since.

There is no doubt that such behaviors will, on one hand, cause damage to the cultural relics, which are the precious treasure passed downed from our ancient ancestors. On the other hand, the tourists’ behaviors will not only have a bad effect on themselves but also ruin the image of their school, their company, their family or even their motherland.

So while traveling, we are bound to regulate our deeds. First of all, we should keep in mind that the scenic spots are the most beautiful places, which deserve to be well pr otected. In addition, it’s our responsibility to keep the places of interest tidy and clean. Never litter or scribble everywhere. It is also bad manners to spit at your will. Still, speaking in a low voice in public places is strongly recommended, esp. while traveling abroad.

As one put it,“There is a kind of scenery, which we call civilization.”As a result, I advocate we should avoid violating customs or laws when we travel at home and abroad and never hesitate to be well-behaved tourists.

M:That’s a great idea. I can bring some friends, if that’s OK.

W:Sure. I’ll ask my mum to watch it with us. She can tell us all about the stars. Let’s say

6 o’c lock on Saturday.

(Text9)

M:OK, I got my vacation early this year so as soon as school’s out, the first of June, we have two weeks to have fun. We’ve talked about this before and have chosen two

possibilities:a trip across Canada or explore Florida. Which will it be?

W:I’d like to Florida. I’ve always wanted to visit Orlando.

M:We should get on the Internet and check flight schedules as soon as possible. I remember a ticket costs $500. They may still have that promotion where a second

person flies for half price. That means the four of us can go for the cost of three.

W:Orlando, here we come! But we spend the whole two weeks there, will we? I heard St

Augustine was cool. And there’s Daytona Beach where yo u can drive on the beach.

M:Your mother and I will take care of the driving and make hotel reservations so you and Tim will plan the sightseeing. Is that a deal?

W:Yeah! Great!

M:Only one rule. Each person gets to take one suitcase.

W:But I have a lot of clothes I want to take.

M:I’ll help you pack.

(Text10)

W:Planning a schedule that includes time for studies, part-time work and free time can be a challenge. Today we have Dr Tony with us to talk about how to plan a schedule.

M:Well, the good way to start is to make a plan for each day and then try to balance your time so you can include everything. Here are some guidelines that may help you.

First, we start with the twenty-four hours we all have in every day. If we take out eight hours for our sleep time, that leaves sixteen hours to divide among the other

activities. Attendance at school takes about six hours and homework about two,for a

total of eight. That leaves us eight hours for sports, work and free time.

Remember ,those guidelines are flexible and you must adjust them to your particular needs.

Weekends are different since we don’t have to attend school. Here we can usually focus on certain activities such as sports or part-time work and free time. We can see our friends and spend more time with our family.

If you make a schedule and try to keep it, you’ll soon develop th e habit of doing each task during it’s planned time and will be satisfied that you can comfortably do everything you have to do.

故选A 。

不计空气阻力,重力加速度为g,下列说法正确的是() A.小球落在P点的时间是1 tan v gθ B.Q点在P点的下方 C.v1>v2 D.落在P点的时间与落在Q点的时间之比是1 2 2v v 【答案】D 【解析】 【分析】 【详解】 A.以水平速度v1从O点抛出小球,正好落入倾角为θ的斜面上的洞中,此时位移垂直于斜面,由几何关系可知 111 21 1 2 tan 1 2 v t v gt gt θ== 所以 1 1 2 tan v t gθ = A错误; BC.
