第二单元以“看它成长”为话题,要求学生能掌握自然世界中昆虫、动物不同阶段的表达名称与成长过程;能运用一般过去时态(主要是to be句型)的It was... Now it is...及were, are等句式来表达成长过程中生命体的变化过程,尤其是蝴蝶、蚕、青蛙、鸡和鸭子等的成长过程。在此基础上,引导学生感受大自然生命形式的不同,让学生感受身边和谐共生的大千世界。

知识要点介绍

1)学习和掌握词汇:egg, cocoon, caterpillar, chicken, duckling, puppy, grow, fly, was, were等,做到音、形、义的统一。

2)学习并掌握to be动词一般过去时态的陈述句表达,... was \ were...,了解使用的正确方法。适当兼顾其他句式的学习与使用。

3)继续掌握一般现在时态的用法,能正确运用第三人称单数做主语时的动词形式表达。

4)了解并能对某种动物或者昆虫的成长过程进行适当描述。

5)学习并掌握字母组合-ere, -ear, -air, -eer的发音,如here, hair, wear等。

I was very happy with the school hours in Britain because school starts around 9 a.m. and ends about . This means I could get up an hour later than usual as schools in China begin before 8 a.m. On the first day, all of the new students attended an assembly in the school hall. I sat next to a girl whose name was Diana. We soon became best friends. During the assembly, the headmaster told us about the rules of the school. He also told us that the best way to earn respect was to devote ourselves to study and achieve high grades. This sounded like my school in China. I had many teachers in the past year. Mr Heywood, my class teacher, was very helpful. My favourite teacher was Miss Burke—I loved the lessons that she gave in English Literature. In our class there were 28 students. This is about the average size for British schools. We had to move to different classrooms for different classes. We also had different students in some classes, so it was struggle for me to remember all the faces and names. I found that the homework was not as heavy as what I used to get in my old school. However, it was a bit challenging for me at first, because all the homework was in English. I felt lucky, as all my teachers gave me much encouragement and I enjoyed all my subjects: English, History, English Literature, Computer Science, Maths, Science, PE, Art, Cooking and French.
