Step 5问题探究

1.你怎么了?What's_the_matter?

这句话通常用于询问别人身体有什么不舒服,或有何麻烦,后跟with构成:What's the matter with...?类似的句子还有:What's_wrong_with...? 和What_happened_to...?他们的答语往往是表示得了什么病,或什么地方不舒服,常用句型“I_have_a_...”。如:have a headache,have_a_toothache(牙疼) ,have a sore throat,have a cold,have_a_sore_back(背疼), have_a_fever(发烧)等。

2.should的运用

他应该吃更多的水果。He_should_eat_more_fruit.

should是情态动词,本单元表示“应该,应当”,后加动词原形,可用于各种人称。它比must的语气要委婉,用来表示向对方提出建议或忠告,或者表示某种义务或责任。其否定形式为shouldn't,意思是“不应该,不应当”。

①这个故事发生在2003年。

happen是不及物动词,它的用法常见的有如下几种情况:

①表示“某地(某时)发生了什么事”,常用“sth.+happened+(介词)+地点/时间”这一结构来表达,此时主语应是物。

②表示“某人出了某事(常指不好的事)”,要用“sth.+happened+to(填介词)+sb.”这一结构来表达。

③表示“某人碰巧做某事”,要用“sb.+happen(s)(ed)+to_do+sth.”这一结构来表达。还可用“It happens / happened that...”这一结构来表达。

Step 4问题探究

1.so that 的用法

①他昨天起得如此早以便能赶上早班车。

He_got_up_so_early_that_he_could_catch_up_with_the_early_bus_yesterday.

②他努力学习,结果考试获得了好成绩。

He_worked_so_hard_that_he_got_good_grades_in_the_exam.

so that“以便,为了”,引导一个表示目的状语从句,此时可与in_order_that换用;从句谓语中常用情态动词may/might,can/could,should,would 等;主从句间连接紧凑,没有逗号相隔。

so that引导结果状语从句时,从句中一般不用can和may等词,并且从句与主句之间往往有逗号相隔开(即略作停顿),意思是“因此,所以”。

2.run out (of)的用法

他的钱用完了。He_ran_out_of_his_money.

run out和run out of 这两个短语都有“用完”的意思,但用法不同。run out作不及物短语,表示“被用完,被耗尽,(人)把东西用完(或花光)”,其主语通常是金钱、时间、食物等无生命名词。run out of 意为“用完”,是及物短语表示主动,主语只能是人。

3.be sued to的用法
