Economy coul d be a real big issue of a country’s government, since it can decide the developmental speed of a country and can show the ability of the government. Therefore, how to grow the economy becomes an important problem. Some peopl e hol d the view that in order to increase economic growth, the government can neglect environment concerns. However, I don’t agree with it for the foll owing reasons.

Firstly, the growth can’t stay lon g with out the environmental concerns. We know that the resources on the earth are limited, which means we need to prepare for the future. If we just pursue the short-time growth, after decades, the earth will run out of resources. We can see that in some devel oping countries, selling fuels coul d be an easy way to improve their country’s economy. However, it will take thousands of years to format new fuel resources, such as petroleum and coal. When there are no fuels anymore, they can’t reproduce them and the growth of economy will sudd enly sl ow d own.

Secondly, neglecting environmental concerns will harm the citizens’ health. People may get ill because of various pollutions. For instance, the air pollution now in Beijing is very serious, combining with the water pollution and even the light pollution. Many peopl e get sick since there is so much dust in the atmosphere. But if we back to the 1950, when China’s economy was still leave behind by the other countries, the sky in Beijing was so blue and beautiful and nearly no people get sick by the air pollution.

Last but not the least, it may be cause catastrophes all over the world. Some countries improve their economy by the industry, and they may create a lot of co2, which is so harmful to the global weather and will increase the global temperature. As a result, some islands have already disappeared and some place often attack by the tsunami.

In the nutshell, I woul d like to reinforce my perspective that I d on’t agree the statement that the government can improve the economic growth without thinking about the environmental concerns.
