Sarah came running in. “Look what I found.” Over the top of the paper I was reading came a crispy(松脆的) long object that caused me to jump. It was a snake that had been shed by one of our many garden snakes.

“I see, Dad,” said Sarah and jumped off my lap and ran off.

I hope she would remember this. That often, in order to find our real selves underneath the layers of communication and culture with which we cover ourselves year after year, we need to start examining these layers. Traffic lights are key tools for regulating traffic now. They are not, however, perfect. Creating such a smooth passage means adjusting a vehicle’s speed so that it always arrives at the lights when they are green. That is theoretically possible, but practically hard. Roadside signs wired to traffic lights can help get the message across a couple hundred meters from a crossing, but such signs are expensive, and are not widespread. Margaret Martonosi and Emmanouil Koukoumidies at Princeton University, and Li-Shiuan Peh at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, however, have an idea that could make the process cheaper and more effective. Instead of a hardwired network of signs, they propose to use mobile-phone applications.

For a driver to benefit, he must load the team’s software, named SignalGuru, into his phone and then put it on a special thing attached to the inside of his car’s windscreen, with the camera lens pointing forward. SignalGuru is designed to detect traffic lights and track their status as red, yellow or green. It broadcasts his information to other phones in the area that are fitted with the same software, and--if there are enough of them, the phones thus each know the status of most of the lights around town. Using this information, SignalGuru is able to calculate the traffic-light schedule for the area and suggest the speed at which a driver should travel in order to avoid red lights.

Tests in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where five drivers were asked to follow the same route for three hours, and in Singapore, where eight drivers were asked to follow one of two routes for 30 minutes, revealed that SingalGuru was capable of predicting traffic-light activity with an accuracy of 98.2% and 96.3% respectively in the two cities.

The Lumiere Brothers opened their Cinematographe in Pairs, to 100 paying customers over 100 years ago, on December 8, 1895. Before the eyes of the stunned, thrilled audience, photographs came to life and moved across flat screen.

So ordinary and routine has this become to us that it takes a determined leap of the

imagination to grasp the impact of those first moving images. But it is worth trying, for to understand the initial shock of those images is to understand the extraordinary power and magic of cinema, which has made film the most dynamic, effective art form of the 20th century.

The Lumiere Brothers’earliest films was a 30-second piece which showed a train flooded with sunshine appears and heads straight for the camera. And that is all that happens. Yet the Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky, described it as a “work of genius”. “As the train approached, panic started in the theatre: people jumped and ran away. The frightened audience could not accept that hey were watching a mere picture. Pictures were still, only reality moved; this must, therefore, be reality. In their confusion, they feared that a real train was about to crush them.”

Early cinema audiences often experienced the same confusion. In time, the idea of film became familiar, the magic was accept--but it never stopped being magic. Film has never lost its unique power to embrace its audiences and transport them to a different world. For Tarkovsky, the key to that magic was the way in which cinema created a dynamic image of the real flow of events. A still picture could only imply the existence of time, while time in a novel passed at the whim of (按……的步调) the reader. But in cinema, the real, objective flow of time was captured.

Thanks to film, future generations will know the 20th century more intimately than any other period. We can only imagine what life was like in classical Greece. 九年级英语月考试卷分析 考试阅卷结束后，我对英语试卷做了统计分析和调查，结果表明，我班英语成绩不够理想。 一、试卷特点 试卷紧扣教学大纲的要求着重考察了学生的基础知识以及在掌握知识的同时对基础知识的运用。试卷着重考查九年级所学的重点，没有偏题。试卷总体感觉不难，但是从学生角度反应出试题具有较大的迷惑性，要求学生能够排除干扰因素，并且注意知识细节。 各大题得分情况：听力为50%；单项选择为70%；完型填空为50.5%；阅读理解为64.65%；单词拼写为61.20%；动词填空为44.20%；书面表达为77％。 二、试卷命题的特点及学生存在的问题 第一部分听力（30分） 听力部分考查了学生的理解日常英语的能力，相当部分题目直接从录音对话中找到答案，但一些题目找不到直接的答案，学生必须通过思考，从词语释义、句意理解或段意理解等不同方式悟出正确的选择，内容难度不大，而且语速不快，但部分学生本来基础知识欠熟练，而且没有掌握好答题技巧，也就是说没能按老师平时的要求，在听录音前，做到反复看透听力的题目，所以答题反应慢而失分，尤其是第五题信息转换的单词错误率较高。说明学生的听力理解能力还待提高。如： 第二部分知识运用（95分） 单项选择题（20分）。。本题共有20小题，大部分题目不是孤立地考语法知识，而是将他们放在特定的语境中，学生必须看懂题干的全部内容以后，经过思考方能选出正确答案，如第46小题：学生对hope这个词的用法不够清楚，后面的宾语是动词不定式，表面能理解，但不能灵活运用。这说明学生对基础掌握的不牢固，有待于进一步提高。 完型填空（30分）。。难度适中，文章很容易读懂，但学生得分率并不高。这篇文章着重考查学生的基础知识，但学生只是凭感觉做题，不利用所指导的技巧去分析题目。今后要继续加以指导，使学生养成良好的做题习惯。 补全对话（5分）。。得分率不高。在对话中添加了对生活实际的考查。侧重对基础知识的灵活运用并有一定的难度。 阅读理解（40分）。。共有四篇，D篇最简单，所选的答题大体都能一目了然，学生做对率很高。但前三篇考查细节和对全文的整体把握的题目比较多，学生出错特别多。如第92.93 失分较大。由于学生不能理解95题i具体含义，失分也较大，反应出学生做题不够细心，不够耐心；同时也反映出学生缺乏一定的做题技巧。 第三部分（写25分） 单词拼写（5分）。总体得分率不高，学生对所记住的单词不会在句中灵活运用。第100小题Has Any _________(认识到) her mistake yet ?.学生只单纯考虑“认识到”三字，认为这个单词写出来就行，不会从整体上去考虑，以致于忘了时态了。以后继续加强对此题的训练书面表达（20分）。明显检查学生运用语言能力，大部分学生用汉语的思路来写作，以至不能正确表达意思，从中反映了学生句子结构还不熟练，语言表达能力弱，语法错误多的缺点。 三、学情分析 总的来说，这次考试成绩不理想，优秀率为零，尖子生还没有发挥水平；低分较多，两极分化的距离还没有缩少。通过整体的分析，反映了学生在复习中，基本上能领会课堂的要点要求，一些知识点在堂上反复出现的，掌握得较牢固，但是运用这些知识去解决实际问题的能力较差，这与课后的练习有关，说明了部分学生对课后的练习作业不够重视、缺乏主动性，而且，解题的依赖性强，缺乏独立的思考能力，另外，对于一些相关的语法知识和句子的构成，学生的遗忘率也很高。 四、今后的教学措施

八年级英语第三次月考试卷分析 林梅八（三）八（四） 2013年上学期八年级英语第三次月考试卷分析和考试情况如下。 一．考察内容 第三次月考，临近期末，考察了第一单元到第八单元的知识点。试卷题型齐全，符合中考试卷。但是试卷片难，主要是作文和单选以及阅读理解比较难。二．试卷结构分析 题型分为第一部分听力题共30分，第二部分英语基础运用共两大题满分45分。包括单项选择和完形填空。第三部分阅读理解两大题满分45分，包括补全对话和阅读理解。第四部分为训练学生写的能力，共两大题满分30分。包括单词填写和书面表达。 三学生考试情况分析 我带八三班和八四班两个班，两个班级在考试中，都有高分也有低分。下面就两个班级的考试情况进行分析： （一）三班基本情况 1.八三班最高分129分，最低分31分，这比期中考试，最高分降低了，最低分提高了，班级总体差距有所降低。 2.八三班100分以上有6人，90分到100分有3人，不及格人有27人。这反映出八三班英语学习总体情况不好。合格率过低，应该反思教学方法。 3.八三班平均分为68分，合格率25%，优秀率5.6%。学困率27%。这比期中考试平均分降低了，合格率下降了。优秀率没变。学困率浮动不多。 4.对策： 课堂上的问题，跟对学生的教育息息相关。说明应该和三班的学生多给予纪律和上课情况提出具体要求。少在班级因一些差生耽误课堂。提高课堂纪律和效率。同时多与班主任协调，多解决学生的思想上的问题，这有助于课堂教学。 课下多督促后三分之一学生过关当天学习的内容。多给优生指导学习方法。

多与学生课下交流，多了解学生。关心学生，走进学生。 （二）八四班情况 1.八四班最高分137，最低分40分。这也反映出班级学生的学习成绩差距很大。比期中考试最低分提高了，最高分也提高了，差距在缩小。 2.八四班100分以上的同学8人，90分到100的同学有3人，没及格的同学有27人。这反映出八四班的中等生较少，而不及格的同学在学习上问题较多。能看出学期快结束，同学们的学习状态不佳。 3.八四班英语平均分7 4.7分，合格率为28.9%，优秀率2.6%,学困率为18.4%。这反映出，班级的优等生较少，学困生较多。与期中考试相比较，合格率和优秀率有所下降，而学困率有所上升。 4.对策： 在关注后三分之一学生时要注意中等生的培养，多给他们布置一些较难的练习，锻炼他们的能力。 学困生需要在课堂上多多关注，并且让他们参与到课堂上来。通过点将的方法，时刻关注他们学习的情况。 课下多了解学困生的学习不足之处，给予方法上的指导，和心理上的疏导。 四：反思 通过考试可以看出四班英语没有进步，平均分有所下降，这和平时的严格要求有关。在学期结束前，对学生的要求不能降低。三班学生总体状态还好，但英语学习热情不高。反应出英语课堂的吸引力不高。应该多再英语教学方法上多改变，多总结。
