教师资格证教案 第一课 自己

Teaching Plan

Content: Model 1, unit 1 School life, Welcome to the unit & Reading

ⅠTeaching Aims and Demands:

1、Make Ss have a knowledge of school life in UK;

2、Learn how to describe their own school life;

3、Master reading strategies: skimming and scanning;

ⅡTeaching Methods and Tools:

1、Show pictures about the Chinese school life to arouse Ss’ interests;

2、Through discussion to enhance Ss’ ability of expression;

3、Using QS and doing practice to make Ss master reading strategies.

ⅢKey points:

1、Description of school life;

2、Reading strategies: skimming and scanning.

ⅣTeaching Procedures:

Step1: Warming-up (5-8 min)

A short time’s talking.

Topic: What is your dream high school life like?

T: Ok, everybody, are you ready for your new school life? We have said goodbye to our junior school, and from now on, our senior school life begins, do you feel exited?

S:

T: Ok, maybe most of you feel exited about the future life because future is full of unknown things; but someone may be worried about it because the study is

harder than before. Anyway, what is your dream high school life like? Everyone can say something about it. Put up your hands, and tell us your dream school life bravely!

S: (Talking)

T: Ok, Teresa, oh~~~ your life is so colorful! You will be study hard, and join in the students union, participate in various kinds of outdoor activities. That’s

fantastic, your plan is good! Oh, Peter, talk about your idea, please. You want to play football everyday? En~~~ like sports is good, but you must know how to

arrange our study time and playing time reasonably. What’s more, we should

not take part in outdoor activities just for funning; we must learn how to get

knowledge and abilities from these activities. Ok some of you describe your

dream high school life actively. Most of you are very curious about your future life. In our first lesson, we learn Unit 1 school life.

After discussion, teacher show some pictures about Chinese and British school life to Ss, and ask them to talk about differences between Chinese and British high school life.

T: Now, you can open your book, turn to page1, and look at these pictures in my hands. In my right hands, there are some pictures about our Chinese school life; in my left hands, there are some pictures about British school life. I want you to find some differences between these two groups of pictures.

S: John, in our Chinese school, buildings are usually very high, but in British, buildings are low. Facilities are more than our country’s schools. Classroom size, outdoor activities.

(From pictures and Ss’ experiences, students can speak out some differences, but they can learn more from the next article.)

T: Next, you will learn more about the British school life from an article which written by a Chinese students, Wei Hua, she used to study in UK. But before we read the article, I want to teach you a reading skill. Pay attention.

Step2: (8-10 min)

1、Teach gives three questions about the article, and teaches them how to

use skimming to get the answers.

(1)What is the main content about this article?

(2)What is Wei Hua’s feeling about her life in UK?

(3)Which British city did Wei Hua go to?

Skimming: when we want to get a general idea of a passage, we mainly pay attention to the title, the first and last sentences of each paragraph, and the first and last paragraphs, as well as pictures and charts, to guess what the text is about.

2、Give Ss 5 minutes to skim the article, and ask three Ss to answer the

questions.

(When Ss answer each question, teacher explains the usage of skimming in finding answers. First one: pay attention to title and guess; second one: the first paragraph and the first sentence; third one: the last paragraph and the last sentence.)

T: Is it easy? Yes, very easy. Then another reading skill. It’s also very easy!

Step3: (18-20 min)

1、Teacher gives four questions related to details to Ss and teaches them

how to apply scanning to finding answers (mark the key words and

sentences).

(1)Who is Wei Hua’s the best friend in school? (Key word is the name:

Diana, in the second line of the second paragraph.)

(2)On average, there are how many students in a class in British? (Key

word is the number: 28, in the forth line of the third paragraph.)

(3)Why it was a struggle for Wei Hua to remember all the faces and

names of her classmates? (The fifth line of the third paragraph.)

(4)If someone has no interest in history, can he\she stop learning it? (The

second line of the sixth paragraph.)

Scanning: when we want to find certain information in a text quickly, we

scan the text for key words and phrases, dates, numbers, names, certain

words and so on. We don’t need to read the whole text word by word.

(Teacher explains the application of scanning when Ss answer each

question.)

2、Give Ss 5 minutes to complete the exercise C1 and C2 in page 4 by using

scanning.

(Teacher gives answers of C1、C2 to Ss, explain the wrong ones.) Step4: (5-8 min)

1、After the learning of the article, teach leads Ss to find more differences

between Chinese and British high school life, and ask them to describe by

bad reading habits: finger-point reading, lip reading); and the description

of school life.

Arrange the content in next class: word power and grammar.

ⅤTeaching Assignment:

1、Finish the D and E at home.

2、Collect some words about school facilities, such as office, canteen.
