摘要新“读书无用论”出现对中学教育尤其是农村中学的教育产生负面影响，故需要加强中等教育，注重学生的素质教育和学生教育发展的多元化，加速中学教育义务化进程，促进教育机构的多样化。

AbstractThe emergence of new idea of uselessness of study would bring negative effect to secondary education especially rural middle school education. So it is necessary to improve secondary school education system, pay more attention to quality education, diversify education means, accelerate the obligation process of secondary education, develop various kinds of education sector.

近两年来，新“读书无用论”在某些地区重新抬头，对教育的发展是很不利的，尤其是对中等教育影响更为深远。读书无用论为什么会重新出现，在现在社会的背景下如何进一步加强中学教育，需要我们进一步进行思考的问题。

1 新“读书无用论”及其原因

“读书无用论”是某些人或群体在评价社会现象时，因为目标与现实之间存在差距，自我难以理解或难以改变，而对读书（或教育、知识、学习）所持有的一系列否定态度和观点。“读书无用论”出现于“文革”时期，造成了中国教育在动乱十年内的一片混乱，更在之后出现了国家人才断层。近两年来又出现了新“读书无用论”，新形势下的新“读书无用论”，实际上指的是
