II.阅读理解。

Note-taking is a skill that can help you do well in all your schoolwork. It can make your confident when you[are studying. But unluckily, most students don’t know how to take notes. Here are some suggestions.

Write down key facts. If your teache r writes notes on the blackboard, that’s great. You can copy them or write down the most important facts of all in class. Different teachers do things differently. For example, some teachers may focus on(关注)lots of dates and facts in class, but they only write the important ones on the blackboard. Other teachers may not write anything down, but they may say something important again and again.

Ask. Don’t be afraid to ask your teacher to repeat(重复)what you miss. If your teacher speaks too fast and you can’t follow what he is saying, you can ask him after class.

Compare. Comparing your notes with your classmates’ can be good for your learning. It can

also help you and your classmates correct some mistakes.

Organize. Note-taking also needs organization. Keep notes for each subject in one notebook

so that you can find everything easily when a test comes.

Good note-taking takes time.If you decide to recopy your notes every evening, you’ll

surely have less time to watch TV. But you’ll save time in the coming test.

whether…or…是……还是…… whether or not 是还是不是

如:The question is whether to go to Paris or London.问题是去巴黎还是伦敦。

depend on意思是“依靠;信赖;取决于”,后面接名词、代词、动名词或从句做宾语,也可以接不定代词的符合结构。其中介词on可用upon替换。

如:You cannot depend on your parents forever.你不能永远以来你的父母。

拓展:depend on还可以表示“视……而定;取决于……”,不能进行时和被动语态。

学生的上学方式取决于他们住哪里。

2. pay attention to意思是“注意;关注”,to在这里做介词,后接n/v/ving做宾语。

II.阅读理解。

Most dictionaries will tell you a number of things about a language. There are three important things. These three things are spelling, pronunciation and meanings.

First, a dictionary will tell you the spelling of a world. If you are not sure about the spelling of a word, you can try to find the correct spelling in a dictionary. Words are listed in alphabetical order—a,b,c and so on.For example,on a dictionary page the word“poor”—p,o,o,r–comes before “poverty”—p,o,v,e,r,t,y —and the word “poverty”comes before“power”—p,o,w,e,r.The words are always given in an alphabetical order.

The second thing, a dictionary will tell you pronunciation. Most give phonetic, or sound, alphabet. The phonetic spelling will tell you how a word is pronounced. There are a few different phonetic alphabets.Many dictionaries use the International Phonetic Alphabet to show pronunciation.

The third thing, a dictionary will tell you the meaning of words. You can look up a word and find out what it means. Many words have more than one meaning, and a good dictionary will tell you all of the word’s meaning. For example, in English the common word “get” h as over 20 different meanings. 感叹句是表示喜怒哀乐等强烈感情的句子。一般说来, 感叹句是由 what 或 how 开头的,其余与陈述句结构相同,句末用感叹号, 朗读时用降调。由what引导的感叹句

what修饰名词或名词短语,有以下两种形式:

宾语从句(一)

(一)在复合句中担当宾语的从句叫宾语从句,宾语从句可作谓语动词或介词的宾语。

eg: He said he was good at drawing. (动词宾语)

He asks him how long Mike has been down. (动词宾语)

Miss Zhang is angry at what you said. (介词宾语)

宾语从句是一种名词性从句,在句中作及物动词的宾语,或介词的宾语,或形容词的宾语。

根据引导宾语从句的不同连词,宾语从句可分为三类。

1.由that引导的宾语从句。that只有语法作用,没有实在的意义,在口语和非正式文体中可以省略。例如:

He said (that) he wanted to stay at home.

She doesn’t know (that) she is seriously ill. I am sure (that) he will succeed.

2.由连接代词who, whom, whose, what, which和连接副词when, where, why, how引导的宾语从句。这些连接代词和连接副词在宾语从句中充当某个成分。例如:

Do you know who (whom) they are waiting for? He asked whose handwriting was the best.

Can you tell me where the No.3 bus stop is? I don’t know why the train is late.

3.由if或whether引导的宾语从句。if和whether在句中的意思是“是否”。例如:

I want to know if (whether) he lives there. He asked me whether (if) I could help him. (二)宾语从句的语序:宾语从句的语序应为陈述句的语序。例如:

I hear (that) physics isn’t easy. I think (that) you will like this school soo n.

(三)宾语从句的时态

1.如果主句的时态是一般现在时,宾语从句该用什么时态就用什么时态。

如:I don’t thin k (that) you are right. Please tell us where he is.
