Unit 8 Lesson 1 Adventure Holidays(Period One)

Analysis of the teaching materials:本课是第八单元第一课,阅读课。本课通过阅读一篇喜马拉雅山旅游探险海报让学生了解雪山探险的一些可能的经历。同时,本课还要求学生掌握状态动词和动态动词以及形容词和副词的区别。由于本课内容较多,因此要用两课时完成。以下为第一课时,主要以完成阅读为主,提高学生阅读能力,同时通过阅读,鼓励同学们锻炼身体,以健康的体魄感受祖国大好山河。

Step 1 Lead-in

1.Q: When you are on holiday, would you like to go traveling? Where do you want to go? Try to share the travelling experience of the Ss.

2.Show some pictures of some attractions in Inner Mongolia to inspire students’interest and then lead to the topic of the text “ Adventure in the Himalayas”

Step 2 Listen and imagine

1. Students listen to the first paragraph of the text and imagine they are on an adventure holiday in the Himalayas.

3.Students read the first paragraph and make out where the text is from and the teacher explains what “Adventure 2000 ”is.
