摘要

1990年代起,伴隨電腦科技與地理資訊系統的成熟,Hägerstrand於1970年代發展之時間地理學不僅逐漸與地理資訊系統整合、模型化(formulized) 與視覺化(visualized)。其概念逐漸被廣泛應用於運輸地理學、女性主義地理學、都市規劃、公共衛生與流行病學等領域。但即使如此,研究者仍缺乏將時間地理資訊系統(temporal GIS) 與全球定位系統(GPS) 資料及網路地圖服務(WMS) 整合視覺化的工具。

本研究自行設計程式,整合GPS軌跡、網路地圖服務與時間地理資訊系統1,並嘗詴進行3-D地理視覺化(geovisualization),檢視不同社經背景學生時空路徑的動態差異。本研究詴圖驗證時間地理學與GIS、GPS、WMS的結合可能性與限制。

Abstract

The theory of time geography has become popular and has been implemented extensively in feminism geography, transportation geography, urban planning, public health, epidemiological study and geovisualization. But researchers still only have limited tools to gain a closer relationship between GIS, global positioning system (GPS) and web mapping service (WMS).

This study attempts to integrate both GPS trajectories and WMS into ESRI ArcGIS 9.x geovisualized environment with space-time extension2by prototype system. Using the 3D time-geographic geovisualization technique, this study explores the space-time paths of several students under different socioeconomic backgrounds and examines the possibilities and limitations of combining time-geographic concepts with GIS, GPS and WMS.
