一、课程的作用、地位和任务
1．课程作用
本课程是外贸/商务英语专业的一门重要课程。对学生进行全面、严格的基本技能训练，培养他们实际运用语言的能力，为进入高年级的学习打下扎实的专业基础。
2．教学方法
1）以课程讲授和课堂训练法为主, 辅以大量的课外练习。充分利用学生课后自主学习能力的培养和任务的布置。教师面授中要注重讲解与学
生互动相结合，讲解部分包括课文结构的分析、相关文化的介绍、语
言难点（包括词汇、语法）的分析、阅读、写作、翻译等技巧的介绍
和操练等等。
2）利用多媒体设备实施英语教学，教师要利用大屏幕授课条件，使教学课堂做到有声有色、有实质性的内容。
3．课程学习目标和基本要求
1）学习目标:
通过学习高级英语课程，学生应能在读、写、译、说等方面得到较为全面的提高。
2）基本要求:
（1）词汇：认知词4，500-5，500个，正确而熟练地运用其中的，2，000-2，500个最基本的搭配。
（2）语法：掌握各类英语专业基本常用的英语语法项目，例如：掌握比较级和最高级的构成及基本句型、冠词的一般用法；了解动词的
主要种类、时态、语态及不定式、动名词和分词的基本用法、被动
语态、构词法、主谓一致关系、表语从句、宾语从句、定语从句、
主语从句、同位语从句、倒装句、状语从句等句型、掌握初步掌握
句子之间和段落之间的衔接手段。
（3）读的能力：掌握基本阅读技能，能阅读并正确理解语言难度较高的一般题材的文章，一般阅读速度达每分钟70-120个单词，学生应
具体具备如下阅读能力：
i.根据上下文把握词义的能力，包括少量超纲词的词义；
ii.理解句子意思，并能理解上下文的逻辑关系；
iii.理解文章的字面意义，并能根据所读材料进行一定的判断和推论；
iv.把握每一段落及整篇文章的主旨和大意，并能找出用于说明论证主旨和大意的事实和方法；
v.能对作者的态度等做出一定的分析和判断。
4）写的能力：具备在语篇水平上用英语书面表达思想的基本能力。能在30分钟内写出长度为120-150个单词的短文，内容切题，条理清楚，语言正确。
5）译的能力：独立完成课程中的各种翻译练习，要求理解准确、语言通顺。
6）说的能力：能用英语复述所读课文，进行简单的日常会话。

四、考核内容及要求
1. 考核形式：闭卷笔试
2. 考试时间：90分钟
3. 考试内容和形式：主要为学期所教内容，例如，包括英语词汇、语法、阅读理解、翻译以及写作能力。题型包括：填空题、选择题、翻译题、写作等。难度从易到难，分值随之提高。
