My Hometown

Good morning, everyone! It’s a great honour for me to be the first to make the 3-minute-English speech. Today my speech’s topic is my hometown.

It is well known to us that most of us are from Hebei Province, so am I. I come from Baoding.

My hometown Baoding lies in the middle of Hebei Province. It is a beautiful city with a long history, which can date back to 3 thousand years ago. Besides, it’s also a mysterious place where Emperor Yao was born.

At the same time, Baoding plays a very important role not only in Hebei’s history but also in today. From 16th century to 19th century ,baoding was the political, economic and cultural centure of Hebei Province. Even after the Public of China was founded , Baoding was the capital of Hebei Province until 1968.

In recent years, the economy of Baoding has been developing rapidiy. The city is taking on a new look with high buildings, wide roads and more parks. Baoding people’s living conditions are impoving day by day. More and more people have moved into new apartments and bought their own cars.

During this Spring Festival, Chairman Hu paid a visit to Baoding. He spoke highly of the improvement what Baoding had made and offered some pretious directions for the further development of Baoing. I believe that Baoding people will try our best to make the hometown more beautiful!

I like my hometown. I love Baoding.

My hometown I was born and grew up in Chongqing and what impressed me most are food, economy and climate. Hot pot, rice noodles, and Mapo Tofu are the food I like best. The I want to introduce three types of the economy in Chongqing: auto industry, services and shopping street. After all, I most like shopping street because I can buy everything I want if money enough. The weathers of Chongqing in spring, summer and winter are seasonal characteristics. In spring, the recovery of all things, everywhere full of vitality, of course it brings opportunities for bacteria. Chongqing is one of the three fire cities, it is very hot in summer and I can't go out, this is really a good excuse for a day off. Although the winter of Chongqing can’t enjoy the beautiful scene of s now and cannot ski, it’s not very cold like northern cities.
