My Experience of a Flood

About 10 years ago, it was a terrible nature disaster that I was truly horrible that was still an unforgettable memory for my whole life. In fact, if it had rained for lasting several days, I had would believe that it could be a predictable flood, which looks like a lion making a surprise attack on the south area.

Until now, I have also remembered that I had been limited in a small ground because of the dirty water running into the descent down of the house. It was no doubt that we couldn’t prevent such a flood and orderly put on all the goods, which were lazily drifting from one side to the other side. We had to build a wood bridge across the higher places for going through an enclosed space conveniently. After all, we could take some fresh water to supply for our daily life, but we had to make some measures finish the easy project. When we didn’t consider the worst result we could have chances to escape from the flood. However, the flood seemed awaken us to the reality overnight while it really had been continued and couldn’t come across suddenly. Therefore, we only made up the error but we couldn’t live as usual, certainly the house filling with water even the city road. If it only took 15 minutes to go to school, I would factually spend much more time than before.

During that time, we always talked about the flood which we hoped it to move back slowly. In the countryside, all the domestic fowls reflected the uneasy and disturbed situation. To worst of all, we didn’t know how to deal with such a problem which we faced to transform our possession certainly included these chickens and a lovely cat. Finally, we moved the chickens into a higher and drier place. We observed that the cat was clever, finding out a comfortable roost quickly, and the chickens had been trapped into the flood water, fortunately we saved them by going across the wood bridge from the low-lying land. We stayed in the rain collecting house at least one month, and it was hard to imagine that how to spend the remainder of our time in such a place.

Although we lived in the wet place for many days which couldn’t be change, we still stored the experience that the spirit of overcoming difficulties in our memories.

The flood experience was a fortune in my life, and a success it would be if it was to transform the nature.

Dormitory Talk and the Spoken English We always rely on our dormitory when we feel tired and work hard in a whole day. Especially, we need to seek for a way to relax ourselves certainly we would like to talk with each other whisperingly in our dormitory. So dormitory talk we will never forget is used to ease our

stresses, relieve our pains and express our secrets.

The charm of dormitory talk is that it does really attract our interests from various topics, and someone has any idea where it will extend as it twists or dumps and glints or just lights. Sometimes, any one found fantastic or ridiculous news about the International super stars we are always irresistible for commenting on. As the English major students, we are very special attention to the foreign super star or the political news at home and abroad. Unconsciously, we seem to step into the depth of valley, finally we couldn’t make a conclusion on it, that is to say, it is not any meaningful thing around us. When we wake up in the morning, we shout us, “our eyes are dry, and our faces look pale because of that unknown red star”, and then we will make a negotiation on the dormitory talk at least we shouldn’t stay up late.

It is no doubt that argument often may be a part of the dormitory talk, but there is no purpose of the argument unconvincing others with all kinds of different views. Certainly, we couldn’t just look out the final result or award by others because someone is a winner for argument strongly. Therefore, we often can’t hold the atmosphere that will be affected on our friendship. If someone wept over her misfortunes, and it hints the chance we should grasp to ease such a situation. But we could be late for taking actions, at that time we persist for talking quietly and carefully. Maybe we wait for a chance except for choosing argument

suddenly we see the moment for one starting to talk in a flash. To our surprise, in fact, we have prepared for many contents and talked with each other in better attitude.

And there would have been many things to talk about in the dormitory. Perhaps above all, we are familiar with each other and wander around any fields. Sometimes we needn’t to constraint with a conservative manner. Everyone as a member of the warm family we all treasure, so the good relationship will be stored forever.

1.warm-up活动:通过听一首英语歌:“the more we get together, the happier we’ll be.” 3.pre-reading 通过提问,how can you know your friends, if you haven’t seen each other for a long time? 联系朋友有很多方法,但是 one of the best ways is sending e-mails to them. do you know why? 4.while-reading,读两则广告,了解mary和jack完成表格 name age hobbies looks personality e-mail added wish where she? 5.post-reading 引导学生讨论:do you like to make e-pals with mary or jack? why? 当大部分学生都持肯定观点时进一步思索,what will you write in you e-mail to them? 6.while-writing. 7.post-writing. 1. do you use the tense (时态),spelling(拼写),

猪圈里的活猪叫pig,饭桌上吃的猪肉便成了pork(来自法语pore);地里放牧着的牛叫cattle,席上吃的牛肉则叫beef(来自法语boeuf);Chicken用作肉食时变成poultry(来自法语poulet);calf加工成肉则变成veal(来自法语vcau)。
