The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

There, you can see a great movie about real lava and lea rn about the island’s natural and cultural history. The center is open from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are also many guided walks and hikes around the park. You must check weather conditions and volcanic activity before hiking alone. If possible, you may drive down Chain of Craters Road to see lava flowing into the ocean.

Most high school students would rather spend their summer vacations far away from the classroom. But Vineet Kosaraju and Nikhil Cheerla are choosing to go back to school, and this time they are the teachers.

“I think it’s really nice that I can help the community by spending just a little bit of time every week helping just a few students here and there try and learn programming,” Kosaraju said.

Friends since they were young boys, Kosaraju and Cheerla always shared a love of computer science. They learned the skills from their parents and school, but recognized that not all children have that chance.

“Programming isn’t taught in that many schools, especially low income (收入) schools, because there isn’t that much money to support it,” Kosaraju said.

So he and Cheerla developed “Math and Coding,” an after-school program for kids of all ages to learn the basics of computer programming.

Between applying for college and doing their own homework, the two boys now spend a few hours every week going to different libraries teaching classes that cover everything from building basic games to developing apps.

The friends started the program a little over a year ago and already, it’s spread to more than a dozen libraries across the Bay Area in California. They are even training volunteers to teach these very same classes in other US states and Canada.

Maryann Mitchell brought her 8-year-old granddaughter, Gabriella, to a class on coding at the Alum Rock Library in San Jose, California.

“It’s a chance for her to learn,” Mitchell said.“It’s the way of the future, and it’s a good way for her to get grounded and be ready for what the future holds.”

“I think the most rewarding thing is having people come up and thank you and say they really learned a lot from this class,” Cheerla said.“It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Navarathri, which is celebrated throughout India, falls in September or October. On the first three days, people pray (祈祷) to the goddess Durga, the protector who destroys all evil. The next three days they pray to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Then, also for three days, they look to Saraswathi, the goddess of wisdom and knowledge. You might think people all over the United States have Wi-Fi----wireless

I was tired and sweaty, just wanting to get to the top of the mountain so I could rest well before starting my way back. I learned early during our walk that this wasn't going to be the case. We had to stop and look at every large rock with someone’s name carved in it. We looked at unusual plant formations. We examined large trees and we explored small rock overhangs that reminded the kids of caves. My grandsons viewed the walk as an exciting adventure. Climbing the mountain was a trial to me but my grandsons were not focused at all on the trial of climbing the mountain; they were simply enjoying the journey of the walk. I know when I face a trial in life, I tend to always think of the problem. I want the trial to be over quickly and let life get back to normal. What can I learn during the course of trial? At some point, the trial will be over and we'll be joyous for sure. However, the real joy should not be that the trial’s over, but I am celebrating what I learned during the journey. 1.
