Learning the best values in life

As we all know,developing positive values can benefit people during the journey of life. So it is necessary for teenagers to build good values at an early age.But what values should we build as teenagers?

As far as I am concerned,being appreciative(感激的)and strong are the best values we can learn.It is common to receive a helping hand from others in our daily lives.In fact, we cannot get through life without help from others.For this reason,it is important to learn how to express our sincere thanks to others.We can express thanks by giving others a helping hand when they are in trouble.

Sometimes we need help from others.But just as importantly,we have to be strong. We should not only have the strength(力量)to solve problems,but also be strong enough to pick ourselves up during times of difficulty.In my opinion,strength is a value we should learn.

There are some ways to strengthen ourselves.For example,when I face challenges,I always encourage myself.This works very well for me.

I believe that great values can help us become better people.We should all try to develop proper values.

My favorite film

Released on Aug6,2010,Flipped is arguably(可以说)my favorite US film.It tells the heartwarming story of a boy named Bryce and a girl named Juli.

Their story begins during summer vacation.Bryce’s family moves into Juli’s neighborhood.When Juli first meets Bryce,she is attracted to his bright eyes and falls in love.But Bryce isn’t sure about this and tries to avoid Juli in later years.

It’s hard to imagine that two teenagers,who in others’eyes might not know about love,actually have such a pure and beautiful love.The film’s narration(旁白)describes the details of the kids’lives through the perspective(视角)of adulthood,making it clear that beautiful things need not only to be appreciated,but also to be cherished(珍惜).（这一段可以选背）

In fact,the film is not only about puppy love.It also tells us about dreams,respect, self-esteem(自尊)and the importance of working hard.Juli’s attitude towards life is also worth appreciating.She has characteristics that many of us gradually lose as we grow up.

One of the scenes that struck me most is when Juli’s parents argued about their messy

yard.But they said to Juli,who was in tears,“We will figure it out.It is not your fault.”They take turns comforting her,telling her that they are still in love with each other.Juli says in a voiceover,“…I was lucky to be born in this family.”Loving parents are better than wealthy ones.

The film successfully creates a warm atmosphere for audiences who yearn for(渴望) love and happiness.I hope you will enjoy the movie as much as I did.

Work hard at school

Last weekend,I read an article online about a5-year-old boy in Thailand.He didn’t want to go to school,so his mother made him go out into the street and collect waste in order to make some money.It reminded me of one of my most unforgettable experiences.

Last summer,I didn’t want to go to school anymore because I was disappointed(失望的)with my test scores.I found a temporary(临时的)job during my summer vacation. Since I didn’t have many work skills,the manager just asked me to deliver newspapers. At the beginning,I took it for granted(认为……理所应当)that it would be a piece of cake.However,to my surprise,when I went to people’s houses,they started to look me up and down.I could feel that they looked down on me.I was deeply hurt and felt discouraged(失去信心的).Then I went to one house where a black dog jumped out at me.

I was so frightened that I screamed,but no one came to my help.At that time,I realized that delivering newspapers was a lot more difficult than reading a book in a classroom.I thought about giving up,but I didn’t.I tried my best to do the job better.Although I was very tired,I got better at the job after some time.

From this experience,I have learned that if we put our heart into what we are doing, nothing is impossible.

Now,I am sitting in a classroom and working harder than ever before.But I am also more confident and happier.As long as I don’t lose heart and work harder,I will make more progress.
