Debate

Presenter: The subject of today’s two-minute debate is animal should never be used for testing frugs. Speaking in favour of the subject is Jack, and speaking against is Sally. And you have two minutes, starting from now. Jack, over to you.

Jack: I have four main points to make. Firstly, 4testing drugs on animals may not give an accurate picture of the drugs’effects when used on humans. Secondly, the stress which the animals suffer may also affect the result of the test. Thirdly, scientists can use statistics and computer models instead of animals. And last but not least, 1animals have as much right to life as human beings. Death through research is morally no different from murder.

Sally: Jack mixes facts and morality. But it’s a fact that 3t esting drugs on animals has allowed scientists to fight a number of diseased, and develop medical treatments. M6: My favorite actor is the new James Bond, er, Daniel Craig. I think he’s very good at showing emotions in his films. My favorite actress is called Angelina Jolie.
