Step 2: asking more detailed questions

Suppose you need to ask one speaker his opinion on the situations that people gets news from the Internet. Work individually to think up and write down as many questions as you can to find more detailed information

What shall we pay attention to when we w rite a report? For example, when you are asked to write a report on how the students in your class think they should spend their time, what should you include?

人教版新课标高中英语选修7课文原文 Unit 1 Living well-Reading MARTY’S STORY Hi, my name is Marry Fielding and I guess you could say that I am "one in a million". In other words, there are not many people like me. You see, I have a muscle disease which makes me very weak, so I can't run or climb stairs as quickly as other people. In addition, sometimes I am very clumsy and drop things or bump into furniture. Unfortunately, the doctors don't know how to make me better, but I am very outgoing and have learned to adapt to my disability. My motto is: live One day at a time. Until I was ten years old I was the same as everyone else. I used to climb trees, swim and play football. In fact, I used to dream about playing professional football and possibly representing my country in the World Cup. Then I started to get weaker and weaker, until I could only enjoy football from a bench at the stadium. In the end I went into hospital for medical tests. I stayed there for nearly three months. I think I had at least a billion tests, including one in which they cut out a piece of muscle from my leg and looked at it under a microscope. Even after all that, no one could give my disease a name and it is difficult to know what the future holds. One problem is that I don't look any different from other people. So sometimes some children in my primary school would laugh, when I got out of breath after running a short way or had to stop and rest halfway up the stairs. Sometimes, too, I was too weak to go to school so my education suffered. Every time I returned after an absence, I felt stupid because I was behind the others. My life is a lot easier at high school because my fellow students have accepted me. The few who cannot see the real person inside my body do not make me annoyed, and I just ignore them. All in all I have a good life. I am happy to have found many things I can do, like writing and computer programming. My ambition is to work for a firm that develops computer software when I grow up. Last year invented a computer football game and a big company has decided to buy it from me. I have a very busy life with no time to sit around feeling sorry for myself. As well as going to the movies and football matches with my friends, I spend a lot of time with my pets. I have two rabbits, a parrot, a tank full of fish and a tortoise. To look after my pets properly takes a lot of time but I find it worthwhile. I also have to do a lot of work, especially if I have been away for a while. 务实基础,提升高中英语新课程理念教学 发表时间:2012-12-14T09:12:53.763Z 来源:《未来教育家》2012年第11期供稿作者:武早霞[导读] 在教学中培养学生的学习兴趣,增强教学效果,才能避免在以后的学习中产生两极分化。河北省永年县第一中学武早霞 057150 【摘要】:随着新课程改革的深入, 教材随之更新, 教学内容也随之加大, 在课时一定的情况下, 如何提高教学效率, 成为广大教师关注的焦点。在这种情况下, 精心设计教学过程就成为提高教师教学效率的重要途径。【关键词】:高中英语新课程有效教学 《高中英语新课程标准》明确指出高中英语课程的总目标是使学生在义务教育阶段英语学习的基础上,进一步明确英语学习的目的,发展自主学习和合作学习的能力;形成有效的英语学习策略;培养学生的综合语言运用能力。综合语言运用能力的形成建立在语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等素养整合发展的基础上。如何让学生尽快适应高中英语的学习,培养学生用英语获取信息和处理信息的能力,进而夯实学生终生学习英语的基础是我们每个英语教师都应该思考和研究的问题。为此,本文特就新课程理念下如何实施高中英语教学作如下探讨: 一、充分利用多媒体,利用丰富的网络资源来实现有效教学 在科技飞速发展的e时代,现代化学习手段和工具表现手法多样,各类学习手段正以惊人的速度发展,如国际互联网、多媒体课件、录像带、投影仪、电视、电影,各种学习资料层出不穷。它可以通过不同表现手法再现各种事物的现象、情景、过程,有效地揭示事物的本质和内在联系,加大学习的可接受度,从而激发学习者的学习兴趣,集中注意力,提高学习效率。究竟哪些手段最适合我们的学习,我们一定要有个明确的选择。如果我们选择的是与自己的最佳学习方式相适应的学习手段,那么就可能使自己获取信息的过程变得愉快而迅速,学习效率的提高就不言而喻。 二、夯实语言基础 只有具备较为扎实的语言基础知识,才能进行阅读与理解。在阅读中,语言基础知识的运用集中在对词汇量与难句的理解上。 1.扩大词汇量。通过对近几年高考题的观察与分析,不难发现试卷的词汇量增大了。而且其中部分词汇是通过构词法变来的,这就要求学生不但要通过课本积累词汇,而且还要通过学习构词法来扩大词汇量。 2.培养分析能力。难句的出现必然加大了阅读理解的难度,而且还会影响阅读速度和质量。近年来,高考阅读的长句、难句的数量逐年增多,所以,考生要学会理清句子的基本结构和各语段之间的关系,在分层理解的基础上整合全句语义,使难句迎刃而解。 三、激发学生学习英语的兴趣 在教学中培养学生的学习兴趣,增强教学效果,才能避免在以后的学习中产生两极分化。我们可以把语言教学与日常生活联系起来,上课时有目的讲解一些西方背景知识和趣事。课后多和学生交流接触,了解学生的需要,适当和学生一起参加活动如:圣诞晚会就能极大的拉近了老师和学生的距离,也同时极大地提高了学生参与性与积极性。 让“双差生”学英语是让很多老师头痛的事。学好英语需要持之以恒的毅力,而“双差生”缺乏的往往就是这种锲而不舍的精神,如果只是从正面向他们大谈学好英语的种种好处,恐怕收效甚微。如能把这些学生在其他方面的兴趣,迁移到学英语中来,则可事半功倍。有一次,我把班上的几个常逃学到街上打电子游戏的学生叫到办公室,打开电脑,让他们见识“红色警戒”、“沙丘2000”、“星际争霸”等游戏。那令人震撼的32位音效,赏心悦目的3D动画,人性化的交互式操作,让街上游戏厅中的16位甚至8位的游戏望尘莫及。很快地,他们就融入游戏之中。但每每就在他们指挥着千军万马,即将解放全人类,实现心中梦想时,屏幕上却出现了数行的英文提示,这些学生全傻眼了,这时我就在旁边轻描淡写地给予翻译。 四、新课程理念下实施高中英语教学,教师应建立精心设计的教学过程 首先, 教师必须能够游刃有余地驾驭教材、深入浅出地讲解教材。其次, 教师应该根据每位学生的实际情况, 设计出适合不同层次学生参与的教学内容,调动每位学生的学习积极性, 鼓励各层次的学生表现自己, 从而帮助他们树立学习英语的信心。对于英语成绩较差的学生,教师还应该肯定其优点, 帮助其分析落后的原因, 提出改进的方法, 对进步之处应及时给予肯定和鼓励, 使他们体验成功的喜悦, 从而消除畏惧情绪和厌学心理, 逐渐产生学习兴趣, 进而提高教学质量。 五、提高和谐师生关系,增强教师的人格魅力 英语一向是学生学习比较吃力的一门学科。作为英语教师,更需要深入学生当中,和学生打成一片,了解学生的兴趣、爱好,喜怒哀乐等情绪的变化,时时处处关心学生、爱护学生、尊重学生,有的放矢地帮助学生,从而建立起和谐的师生关系,增加教师的人格魅力,为学生兴趣盎然地进行英语学习积极创造条件。和谐的师生关系是保证英语课堂高质量教学的前提。教育首先应是温暖的、有人性味的,只有热爱学生、尊重学生,才能使师生心灵相通,才能使学生“亲其师,而信其道。” 青少年的心理特点告诉我们,这个年龄段的学生“亲师性”较强。如果他们对某个老师有好感,便会对这位老师的课感兴趣并分外重视,并花工夫学这门课。反之,如果他们不喜欢某一位老师,产生逆反心理,也就不愿学这位老师的课。 六、教师应因材施教,培养学生的自信心 针对学生英语水平参差不齐状况,在教学中,老师首先要做到心中有数,了解学生,熟悉教材。对学生进行严格要求,勤于督促检查,并指导学生掌握正确的学习方法。从培养学生用英语会话能力出发,每节课利用几分钟从师生之间进行英语会话开始,逐步培养学生单独用英语讲一段话,如每日见闻,谈所熟悉的人,爱好、景色等。一般先安排口语较好的学生,给其他学生做个榜样,每个人都有机会。对于稍差的学生,在课前把任务布置好,帮助他们做好准备,以致能在课堂上表现得很出色,使学生感到只要努力就可以取得成绩,感到自己正在不断进步,有所收获。学生有了“成就感”逐渐消除了畏难情绪。 新的英语课程更加强调从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发,教学是科学,更是艺术,高中英语新课程教学要充分考虑学生的特点,一气呵成,不能忽视其中任何一个环节;要注重与学生的交流,密切注意学生的思想变化,才能取得好的效果,才能真正达到新课程理念下实施高中英语课堂教学的目的。

New Course Syllable for English Part 1: Introduction With the advent of the information age and the global economy, English has become increasingly important. English is the dominant carrier of information and the most widely spoken language in the world. Many countries have made English a cornerstone of quality education when developing strategies for basic education. Since China’s reform and opening, the scale of its English education has continually grown, attended by significant achievements in teaching and learning. However, English education in its current form is failing to meet the needs of contemporary social and economic development. The current round of reforms to the English curriculum aim to end the following practices: l Over-emphasizing the transmission and explanation of knowledge about grammar and vocabulary l Neglecting to develop students’ ab ility to use language for real In their place, the reforms aim to establish a curriculum that: l Develops students’ comprehensive language competence l Motivates students, is relevant to their life experiences and cognitive level l Promotes task-based teaching methods l Involves students in experiential, practical, participatory and cooperative learning l Develops students’ positive attitudes, thinking skills, practical abilities, cultural awareness and autonomy through the language learning process 1. The Nature of the New Curriculum The new English curriculum strives to accomplish far more than just help students learn English.
