一、听力(总15分3大题,听对话选择是课外15x1′)⒈判断对错

Today though, there is evidence showing that marine resources are as seriously endangered as those of the land and the air. In fact, in some ways the threats to fish are more alarming than the threats to animals and birds. This is because fish is a much needed food resourc e as people throughout the world depend on fish as an important part of their diet It is reported that to satisfy food demands, 20 billion pounds of fish are harveste d every year in the North Atlantic alone. Sea resources are also rapidly declining in many other parts of the world.

Scientists now believe that food supplies from the sea won't last forever. They warn that excessive fishing will destroy fish reserves within the next few years. They also warn that the decline in fish supply will cause starvation in some parts of the world

二、完形填空(共10题一题一分)

(1)Most people have work to do. With work, they can enjoy(1) their lives. However, people who did compelled (2)labor were looked down upon in the past. Many people were compelled(3) to take manual labor because it was an absolute necessity(4) for them to earn a living and to support (5) their families. By contrast, people who did mental (6) work were highly respected. Under the influence of this idea, even today some people still idealize(7) their future when making choices for their career. What they care most about is whether the job can give them enough social status (8) rather than whether they can realize their values (9) in it. In their eyes, those who do manual labor should still be classified (10) as inferior in social status. In fact, there is no essential (11) difference between those who work with their hands and those who work with their mind (12). Whether a job is labor or work does not depend on the job itself but on people's attitud e (13) towards it. As long as you like your job, you will think you are fortunate(14) enough to take it and you willdoit enthusiastically.

(2)What does success mean to you? Does it mean wealth, fame, power or something else? Differe nt people have different pursuits in life so they understand success in different ways. Those who perform t heir work excellently should be paidsufficiently (5). But success cannot be measured (6) in mone tary terms, nor in terms of the amount of power one may exercise over others. After all, money an

d power can assure(7) peopl

e neither o

f happiness nor of respect from others. Fame, too, is a fl awed measure of success. Momentary (8) fame can brin

g great joy to those who have it for a tim e. But they are very likely to become the slaves of theircelebrity(9)because of the public’s demand s. In addition, they will easily become thetarget (10) of everyone who disagrees wit

h them and of t he media as well. To be frank(11), if one is unable to fully enjoy life and liberty(12), the short-live d success is nothing but illusory(13). 五、作文(15分)

(1)、毕业是选择就业还是考研(2)、就业压力大

六阅读是课外的(3篇15x2′共30分)

Throughout the senior semester, majority of students are always haunted within a dilemma, that is, whether they should hunt a job for a career or join the graduate examination for further study. A portion of undergraduates are more likely to consent that hunting a job is of great merit in that what they have learned during the four years is so adequate and proficient that it is the high time to put the theory into practice. Besides, to some extent, pursuing a career of them own amounts to a declaration of independence from parents. Thus, from where they stand, the sooner they find the job, the faster they step into another phrase of their life.Nevertheless, there are also a group of supporters claiming that winning a master degree is much more significant than anything else. On the one respect, what they have learned in the past four years is regarded as nothing but a drop in the ocean. In contrast, two-or-three-year study as master is going to enable them to acquire more wisdom from books and to fully prepare for progressing in another step. On the other respect, it is undeniable that in several industries master degree gives a stronger proof than bachelor one. And, of course, the salary is higher. Hence, on the basis of the dual ones, they cannot find more persuasive factors to refuse further study.

After seriously taking the both grounds into account, I am prone to say that it does not matter which choice students should make. Instead, what does matter is whether you have made a decision as soon as possible. No matter what decision is, throwing oneself into a multiple choice is a kind of happiness. Yet, the crucial one is when the decision has made students should go forward and straight with no doubt or regret.

大二期中英语口语考试短文.

1. No Pains, No Gains The height which great men reach and keep is not attained by a sudden flight. Most of us feel envious of the famous and successful people. We do not understand why they are so popular and honored while we are mere simple common folks. In our misconception, we think that people are prosperous because they are especially gifted or that they are “just lucky”. All these have taken root in our stubborn minds, and we refuse to believe that most great men have a mind which is the same as, or perhaps even simpler and duller than ours. Yet, their triumphs are great. Why? Because they are apt to fight difficulties with perseverance and without fatigue, undergo sufferings without minding the wounds; they realize that hardships form the road which they must pass through before reaching their destination. Their endurance is more powerful than that of ours for the simple reason that they submit without complaint to each storm in life. 2. Don’t Give Up If we would ever accomplish anything in life, let us not forget that we must persevere. If we would learn our lessons in school, we must be diligent and not give up whenever we come across anything difficult. We will find many of our lessons very hard, but let us consider that the harder they are the better they will be for us if we will persevere and learn them thoroughly. But there are some among us who are ready to give up when they come to a hard example in mathematics, and say, “I can’t do this.” They never will if they feel so. “I can’t” never does anything worthwhile; but “I’ll try” accomplishes wonders. Let us remember that we will meet with difficulties all through life. They are in the pathway of everyone. If we will only try and keep trying, we will be sure to conquer and overcome every difficulty we meet. If we have a hard lesson today, let us strive to learn it well and
