一V-ing形式作表语

1. 动名词作表语表示抽象的、经常性、一般的行为,可与主语互换位置。现在分词作表语表示主语的特征、性质和状态。

One of his bad habits is smoking while having dinner.

Smoking while having dinner is one of his bad habit.

The film we saw last night is quite moving. (现在分词)

我们昨晚看的电影十分动人。

注:不定式(to do)亦可作表语,但不定式侧重某次具体的动作。

Her job is ___nursing______ (nurse) patients in the hospital; but this weekend her task is ___to look after___________ (look after) her granny.

2.使人产生某种情绪或感觉的使动词,如disappoint, amuse, astonish, interest, frighten, puzzle, surprise, move, excite, bore, confuse等,V-ing表示“令人…的”, 而V-ed表示“(人)感到…的”。

I don’t think her joke is amusing at all.

I am not amused at her joke at all.

The film we saw last night was very moving.

We were moved at the film we saw lat night.

二V-ing形式作定语

动名词作定语用来说明该名词的用途,不表示名词本身的动作;现在分词作定语与所修饰的名词具有逻辑上的主谓关系,即现在分词相当于所修饰名词的谓语。

We must improve our working method. (动名词)

They set up an operating table in a small temple.(动名词)

China is a developing country. (现在分词)

The student making the experiment is our monitor.(现在分词)

全析提示:

1.动名词短语不能作定语,单个的动名词可以用作定语,但仅作前置定语。

如working method=method for working 工作方法

2. 单个分词和分词短语都可作定语,单个分词一般作前置定语,分词短语则作后置定语,相当于一个定语从句。

如:the man visiting Japan=the man who is visiting Japan 访日的那个人。

三、动词-ing形式作宾补

动名词不能作宾语补足语。现在分词作宾补表示的是正在发生的动作。例如:

我看见他正在上楼。

I saw him going upstairs.

我们看着她在过大街。

We watched her crossing the street.

我们听见她在房间里唱歌。

We heard her singing in her room。

主要用于以下两类动词后作宾语补足语。1. 感官动词:see, hear, feel, smell, watch, find, listen to, look at, notice, observe, + V-ing表示动作正在进行。

注:感官动词+ doing (正在进行)

(to) do (动作的全过程)

done (动作的被动、完成)

2. 使役动词:have, set, keep, leave, get+ V-ing表示处于某种状态或持续干某事。

语法复习——非谓语动词(一动词 -ing 的用法 非谓语动词主要包括动词 -ing 形式、过去分词和不定式。为了区分这三种不同的非谓语动词的用法和含义, 我们将分别从三种非谓语动词在句子中所作的成分以及一些特殊句型等角度来区分其用法和细微含义。本讲主要阐述动词 -ing 形式的用法。 动词 -ing 形式起到名词、形容词和副词的作用,在句中可作主语、宾语和表语、状语和宾语补足语,但不能单独构成谓语。 “动词原形+ing ”构成动词 -ing 形式可分为动名词和现在分词。 一、动名词 动名词是 v. – ing 形式的一种,它具有名词特征,可在句子中作主语、宾语、表语。 1.动名词作主语的几种句型 动名词直接置于句首作主语,动名词作主语可以是主动形式,也可以是被动形式。例如: Swimming in winter is healthy. 冬泳是有益健康的运动。 Picking apples is much better than having classes. 摘苹果比上课好多了。 Being elected chairman is a great honor to him. 被选为主席对他是一个很大的荣誉。 有时主语太长,可用 it 作形式主语,将真正主语即动名词放在后面。 不是所有的动名词作主语都可用 it 作形式主语,常见的有:

概念引入 今天我们要学习过去分词作表语和定语的用法。先看下面这些句子: 1. But he became inspired when he thought about helping ordinary people exposed to cholera. (inspired过去分词作表语;exposed过去分词作定语) 2. (polluted过去分词作定语) 上面句子中的黑体词都是过去分词,句1(inspired)、句3、句5中的三个词跟在系动词became、was后作表语;而句1(exposed)、句2、句4、句6中的四个词放在名词前或后修饰名词,作定语。那么过去分词是什么?有什么作用?我们将在本单元和下两个单元中与同学们一起学习。 用法讲解 过去分词的作用 英语中动词如果不作谓语时叫非谓语动词。非谓语动词分为:不定式(to do)、动词-ing形式(doing)和过去分词(done)。 动词-ing形式可分为现在分词和动名词:现在分词强调动作,如a sleeping boy中的sleeping强调“睡觉”这一动作,而且此动作正在进行,与所修饰词boy有逻辑上的主谓关系(即sleeping的动作是boy做的),因此是现在分词作定语;而a sleeping bag中的sleeping强调功能,表示“用来睡觉的”,是动名词作定语。 过去分词多表示动作的被动和完成,但要注意不及物动词的过去分词常表示“完成”的动作,而不表示“被 动”意义。 本单元主要学习过去分词作表语和定语。 1. 与助动词一起构成谓语:
