A friend of mine named Paul received an expensive car from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin(顽童) was walking around the shining car. “Is this your car, sir?” he asked.

Paul answered, “Yes, my brother gave it to me for Christmas.” The boy was surprised. “You mean your brother gave it to you and it did cost you nothing? Sir, I wish…” He hesitated(犹豫). Paul thought of course he knew what the boy wanted, but what the boy said surprised him greatly. “I wish,” the boy went on, “that I could be a brother like that.” Paul looked at the boy in surprise, and then he said again, “Would you like to take a ride in my car?” “Oh yes, I’d love to,” the boy answered.

After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes shining, said, “Sir, would you mind driving in front of my house?”

Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the boy wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big car. But Paul was wrong again. “Will you stop where those two steps are?” the boy asked.

He ran up to the steps. Then in a short while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled(残疾的) brother. He sat down on the step and pointed to the car.

“There he is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day I’m going to give you one just like it…then you can see for yourself all the n ice things in the Christmas windows that I’ve been trying to tell you about.”

An eight-year-old child heard her parents talking about her little brother. All she knew was that he was very sick and they had no money. Only a very expensive operation could save him now and there was no one to lend them the money.

Henry was an office worker in a big city. He worked very hard and enjoyed traveling in his holidays.

浅析牛津高中英语模块七教材的整合利用 陈二丰红星中学 摘要:笔者在牛津高中英语选修七的教学过程中,发现为复习迎接高中学业水平测试,模块七的日常教学任务变重,且时间也比较紧。因此注重教材使用过程中的整合就比较必要了。本文通过笔者在牛津模块七(下文简称模块七)教材中的教学实践,初步探讨如何对教材进行整合运用。 关键词:牛津英语模块七整合案例 教材整合,就是教师根据自己的教学实际情况,面对自己学生接受知识的实际能力,把英语每个单元的教学环节加以重新整合。教育部《英语课程标准》研制核心组专家刘兆义明确阐述新课程改革的核心理念是“一切为了学生的发展”,即“基于学生发展,关于学生发展,为了学生发展。”新颁布的英语课程标准也提出:“在英语教学中,除了合理有效的使用教科书外,还应该积极利用其他课程资源……”。在新课程理念下,课本不是教学的全部内容,教材是可变的、发展的和开放的。而现在使用的牛津教材提供了大量的适合学生兴趣和年龄的内容,在教材的整合中老师只要设置好与教材相关的内容,辅助学生更好的理解所学的知识,注重提出学生感兴趣的话题,让他们由被动的学习英语变成主动的积极的去感受英语。这样的整合就能比较好地培养了学生实际运用语言的能力。也能促进每个学生身心健康发展,实现主动参与,探究发展,交流合作的学习方式,

改变过去教学中教师过分依赖教材,过于强调接受学习,死记硬背,机械训练的现象。 笔者根据模块七教材中的教学实践,以以下案例探讨如何对教材进行整合利用。 一、教学内容的调整和组合。 根据学生的认知特点、心理特点和教学的实际情况,教师可对教材内容的顺序进行适当的调整,使其符合学生的兴趣和能力发展,以引导学生更有效地学习。 1. 单元之间的调整:单元之间的调整主要是根据学生的认知特点,对单元的安排进行重新调整,使之更有利于学生知识的掌握。 在模块七 unit1 Reading :TV and audio devices: a review中,reading strategy 的内容是understanding subtitles。旨在让学生通过对副标题的理解来快速把握文章主旨。本单元的文章结构根据副标题分别是:early history of TV; the modern age: cable TV, satellite TV , digital TV…;early history of audio devices; tape recorders and players; sound goes digital. 学生可以根据副标题轻松地划出文章结构,理解文章主旨。笔者在设计教学过程中,把模块七的P19,P34,P46, P62 页的文章提出来,让学生根据副标题猜测文章的主旨。这些页上的标题和副标题分别是: P19 Title:Two life-saving medicines; Subtitles: ASPIRIN , PENICILIN. 基于教学实践,反思初中牛津英语新教材的使用效果 牛津英语教材与以往的统编教材内容,形式有较大的不同,难度加深,注重词汇的运用和口语交际能力。先前的旧版牛津教材与原有的小学教材衔接不良,故而对学生来讲从小学到初中适应方面有极大的困难,对我们老师来讲也是一种新的挑战。2007学年度开始,我校从预备年级全面实施新版本牛津英语教学。新版本在语法、知识点层次上有了较大改进,系统性更强。我在这一年多的教学中,也不断地更新教育观念,不断地摸索,探究新的教学方法来逐步适应新教材。今天我和大家探讨一下牛津英语教学。 一、教学效果感受 (一)、课文教学 牛津英语打破各学科的界限,而以一个有价值,有兴趣的问题或实际的活动中心来贯穿教材。在整个教学中,它强调以感官为基础,以思考为过程,以自由为目的。它重视学生自由性和潜能发展,以发自于内心的活动为主旨。在学习过程中培养学生的处群能力,学生责任意识以及道德观念。我们在课文教学过程中,打破以往先教单词,再教句型及语言点。在学生对词汇掌握的基础上,再阅读课文,进行问题回答的教学方式。我们改变教学观念,改变教学方法,坚持依照学生的自身情况进行教学。在6A Module 3 Rules中,我们利用多媒体结合学生实际制作了一段录像,让学生在欣赏的过程中获取信息,根据画面也理解了一些生词和句型的意思,然后让学生自己谈谈从录象和课文中学到了什么,发表一下自己的想法。学生都很感兴趣,并且结合学校的规章制度提出了许多自己的想法和建议。在7A Module2 Unit 1Controlling fire中,老师让学生先讨论如果遇到火警他们会怎么做。然后让学生判断对与错,接着让学生自己制定Fire rules,最后让学生以 Short play的形式把一节课所学的内容表演出来以达到让学生在学习中培养责任意识和道德观念。这种教法充分体现了牛津英语强调以感官为基础,以思考为过程,以自由为目的的特点。 (二)、词汇教学 在新教材中词汇量比较合理,每一单元的单词并不多。我注意让学生积少成多,每天背默,但量不多。通过多次尝试、反思,我对学生们提出了新的要求,就是要求学生背诵课文或常用句型,这样不仅仅是方便了记词汇而且也掌握了句型和习惯用语的运用。我还采取了多种方式启发学生的智力,要求学生养成独立思考的能力。比如说:发动大家的积极性,鼓励同学们用一个、两个甚至更多新学词语make sentences ,激励他们打破常规思维,勇于创新。这样也巩固了所学难点。我认为与其老师多讲,不如让学生来说、来用,这样在学生的大脑中会留下深刻的记忆。一节课的2/3时间留给学生去操练,练习,巩固所学知识,并且在不伤害学生自尊的前提下发现错误,并潜移默化的改正错误,不失是一个好方法。新教材中许多新的语法,知识点,短语,句型等,我都采取了发动辨别讨论,延续故事,翻译竞赛、诗歌创作等方式,让他们大量的举例,造句。这样不仅仅是扩展了他们的思维,而且还极大地增加了学生的学习兴趣和自信心。 (三)、充分利用Survey和Project,培养学生的自主能力。 牛津英语有一大特点就是学生的课外活动多。它经常要求学生根据所学的内容进行调查,写简单的调查报告。课后还根据不同的单元设置不同主题的Project,让学生在学习过程中培养学生的处群能力,责任意识以及道德观念。在6A Modulel Unit2 Good friends 中要求学生通过询问同学的年龄,身高和体重来和自己比较并操练句型"I′m/ older/younger/heavier/thinner/taller/shorter than _______(and______)"由于预备班学生刚进中学不久,同学之间不是很熟悉。通过这次活动,不但帮助学生巩固了句型,而且促进了学生之间的了解,培养了学生的处群能力。在7B Module1 Unit1 A travel guide 中,学生在课后根据所学的内容,通过自己的调查每个人制作了一份Travel guide现在

任务型教学之我见——牛津英语教学的一点心得 发表时间:2011-02-24T16:50:15.273Z 来源:《考试与评价》教师版2010年第11期供稿作者:贾秋燕[导读] 《牛津英语》是一套具有时代感,同时具有一定的思想性、知识性和真实性的教材。贾秋燕常州市武进区寨桥中学 《牛津英语》是一套具有时代感,同时具有一定的思想性、知识性和真实性的教材。课文所涉及的题材比较广泛,它的内容包括名人传记、风俗习惯、环境保护、生态平衡、能源交通、行为规范、音乐体育、文明礼貌等许多鲜活的人和事。然而,牛津英语教材涉及的词汇量大、语篇长、语法教学综合性强,令许多学生望而生畏。因此只有选择一种好的教学方法,采取有效的教学手段,才能圆满的完成我们的教学任务和目标。任务型教学法是《英语课程标准》倡导的主要教学方法。它是吸收了后现代外语教育学理论之最新成果而形成的一种新型教学方法。这一教学活动给我教学的各个方面都带来了许多益处。 一、提高了预习效果 我一直认为学生课前预习是很重要的。但预习的形式上要富于变化,否则学生逐渐就会失去兴趣。以前我的预习内容大多是单词、课文等,采取的方法无外乎朗读单词,了解课文大意等等。《牛津英语》的内容虽然比较有趣,但是对我们学生来说,有些内容还是很陌生的,如果预习工作做不好,教学效果可能就会大打折扣。例如Hallowen这个单元其中一个目标是让学生了解一些外国的节日,而我们的学生对有些比较熟悉,比如:圣诞节、愚人节、元旦、情人节等,但是对万圣节、复活节、母亲节、父亲节、感恩节等却不是很了解。于是在和同学们商量后,将他们分成八个小组,每组同学负责一个主题。在同学上电脑课的时候带他们一起到网上查找相关的资料(我兼带他们微机课)。然后将他们找到的资料和图片打印出来,他们再用这些资料做成画报。学生们对这样的预习任务完成的很认真,找了很多与他们的画报主题相关的资料和文章,通过画报的制作,同学们都了解了许多关于西方节日的知识,并且非常全面、翔实。在实际教学过程中,同学们异常活跃,运用语言进行交流的愿望都很强烈,课上起来也轻松有趣得多了,同学们都很好地完成了本单元的任务,达到了预期的教学目标。 二、培养了语言交际能力 在学习完人物介绍的那个单元时,我让同学们将自己的好朋友通过画报介绍给大家。可以介绍一位,也可以是多位,而且必须是中英文都有。同学们的积极性很高,很多同学还贴上了大头贴、照片,更多的是自己去画。为了让更多的同学了解自己的好友,他们充分运用了我们之前学习的语言知识把朋友们的外貌特点,性格特征尽可能详细的进行了介绍。这同时也充分地实现了本单元的任务和目标。通过这一手段,一方面避免了教者进行枯燥的语言知识的讲解,也不需要指挥学生进行机械句型和句式的操练。另一方面使学生在自觉的情况下,主动的使用语言进行交际训练,从而提高了他们运用语言进行交际的能力,同时也增强了学生使用外语的信心和动力。 三、增强了合作和创新精神 在任务型教学中,有许多不同的小的教学目标,其中除了知识和能力目标之外还有情感目标。情感目标的实现就包括培养学生的合作和创新精神。在学习时装设计的那个单元时,我让同学们在自己的画报上设计时装,不但要把设计好的方案画出来而且要用英语作介绍。最后我们共同对他们的实际进行评奖,其中有一个奖就是“最佳创意奖”,就是为了培养学生的创新精神。另外,我注意到了有些学生的设计和美工都不错,但是却不能够运用一些没有学习过的词汇和表达方式来做介绍,因此我允许他们进行合作:画的好的同学和写的好的同学进行自由组合,共同完成一个任务。目的就是要他们通过合作把这个任务尽可能的完成好。在制作的过程中我注意到了他们在合作的过程中除了能够努力做好自己的这部分工作之外,对合作者的工作和努力也给予了很高的评价并不时鼓励对方争取做的更好。在画报制作完成后,同学们对如何与别人进行合作与交流的认识都有了很大提高。 著名教育学家乌申斯基说:“没有任何兴趣,而被迫进行的学习,会扼杀学生掌握知识的意愿。” 而任务型教学正可以极大的提高学生的学习兴趣,从而提高教学效果。因此我们在教学过程中应当继续不断的进行任务型教学的实践与探索,找到适合我们每一个人的教学手段和方法,争取实现教学目标的最优化。
