Introduction to Geo-Spatial Information

Spatial information technology is one of the fastest growing advanced technologies since the 21st century and has been become an important symbol of a country's scientific and technological development level. This course is an important specialized fundamental course for spatial information and digital technology major. In this context, the course will revolve around seven core concepts of spatial information and introduce the basic concept, principle and method of spatial information technology. Topics include spatial data collection, modeling and representation; spatial databases; cartographic issues; spatial queries; spatial information services etc. Students will understand and grasp the direction of the forefront of spatial information and technology, and have ability to do preliminary research related to spatial information science.
