Fossil fuels, such as coal, oil and natural gas, are used in many countries

11 Fossil fuels, such as coal, oil and natural gas, are used in many countries. The use of alternative sources of energy, including wind and solar power, is encouraged. Is this trend a positive or a negative development?

Nowadays, environmental problem has been the focus of a debate. Among these related problems, the issue of substitutable energy is an extremely acute one. It is firmly believed that the benefits of alternative resources have remarkable impact on our daily life, especially on environment and animals preservation reserve aspects.

First and foremost, the widespread use of fossil fuels have caused noise and water pollutions, as well as industrial air pollution, which have led to chronic and accumulative effect to the earth. Moreover, those environmental destructive gases emitted from vehicles and industries also bring perpetually damaging effect to our climate. A case in point is the occurrence of extreme weather conditions, such as La Nina in terms of heavy floods and droughts; along with the formation of global warming and acid rain in every part of the world. Therefore, the use of substitutable energy will definitely help to reduce the damaging effects to environment by those fossil fuels.

Another reason is that the prevalent of polluted natural resources will shrink animals' space of habitat, which will push species closer to the brink of extinction. It is due to the fact that, the deterioration of the environment has destroyed local ecosystem, which is seriously threatened the survival of rare animals. For instance, as North Pole is getting smaller each year, Polar Bear has forced to leave their natural habitat to search for food. Thus, it is clear that the development of renewable resources is important to replace the extensive use of hydrocarbon energy, in order to prevent environmental degradation.

In conclusion, I totally agree with the idea that the growth of renewable energy is positively affects the sustainable development of our environment. It is expected that the importance of substitutable energy can be greatly enhanced through cultivating awareness among the people in the foreseeable future.
