Paper Boats

Day by day I float my paper boats one by one on the running stream

In black letters I write my name on them and the name of the village where I live

I hope someone in some strange land will find them and know who I am

I load my little boats with jasmine flowers from our garden, and hope that these blooms of the down will be carried safely to land in the night

I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the little clouds sitting their white bulging sails

I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down the air to race with my boats!

When night comes，I bury my face in my arms and dream that my paper boats float on and under the midnight stars。

The fairies of sleep are sailing in them，and the lading is their baskets full of dreams

FOOLLISH VARDIELLO

“Look! Look!” cried Vardiello. The man who did not talk too much gave me all this gold for your fine piece of cloth.’’ The poor woman had nerver seen so much gold in all her life. She did not know where to hide it. And she knew that vardiello would tell all the neighbors about it. And so she said,``My son, the man has fooled you. This looks like gold. But they are only some old nails, and I will put them in the pot. Come eat your supper and go to bed. We will say nothing more about the old nails.’’

The next day Vardiello was sitting outside the door when a peddler came by.

“Good morning!’’ Said the peddler. “Has your mother anything to sell, I will buy anything.’’“My mother is not at home,’’ Said Vardiello “But I can sell you some old nails.’’

Vardiello got the pot with the gold pieces in it. He sold it to the peddler for ten pennies. When his mother came home , he showed her ten pennies . “See , mother , I sold the old nails for ten pennies .’’ Said Vardiello.

Fritz Kreisler was one of the world’s greatest violinists. As he grew rich and famous he played some of the finest violins ever made .And someone can said that thing .

One evening .I’m told ,he was giving a concert in America ,and much publicity had been given to the fact that the maestro would be playing a manelously sweet-toned instrument by Guarnerius ,one of the fortmest violin-makers of all time.

At the concert, Kreisler moved his listener to joy and tears. He came to the front of the platform , raied the violin above his head ,then brought it down and broke it .

The audience gasped and fell silent. Kreisler smiled .

“Don’t worry” ,he said , “My Guarnerius is safe in my dressing-room . I bought this violin today in a local store for only three dollars”.

Cat And Tiger

Good morning everyone . T oday I＇ll tell you a story about two kinds of animls . They are cats and tigers.

In China , people believe that , at beginning , the tiger and the cat were friends , and the cat was much smarter than the tiger . The cat learned the physical skills quickly , and the tiger was always behind . Gradually , the tiger had to learn from the cat , and the cat was patient to teach the tiger . Day after day , month after month , finally , the tiger could also run , jump , roll , grasp , tear , and strike as well as the cat . One summer afternoon , the cat was taking a nap as the tiger sitting nearby . Looking at the cat , the tiger suddenly thought , why shout he keep befriending with such a small animal since he had already learnt all the skills from the cat ? The evil tiger decided to kill the sleeping cat as a before dinner snack . The tiger stood up and approached the cat viciously . Just as this moment , the cat woke up . Opening up his eyes , the smart cat immediately realized what the tiger was trying to do and swiftly jumped onto a nearby tall tree and climbed to the top branch .

The tiger thought he had aready learned every skill from the cat . But he never knew that the cat had hidden the tree climbing from him .

I kept the last technique of the tree climbing from you . Because I know you taught me the skills would kill me .

Since that , the tiger and the cat are no longer a friend .
