①英语是当今世界上主要的国际通用语言之一，也是世界上最广泛使用的语言。据1986年的统计，世界上以英语为母语的人近4亿，差不多每十个人中就有一个人讲英语。英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰等国家的人都讲英语。世界上约有20个国家把英语作为官方语言或第二语言使用，共计约有8亿人。也就是说，世界上差不多每五个人中有一个人至少在一定程度上懂英语。若加上世界各国中小学生学习英语的人数，懂英语的人就更多了。英语已经成为当今世界数十个国家的官方语言，这些国家独占了全世界70%以上的财富不懂英语就意味着跟这70%的机会无缘。另有一大批原本的非英语国家，如我们的近邻日本韩国，随着经济起飞，跟国际市场快速融合，英语早已普及化，大众化，大大改变了这些国家的语言使用面貌。调查显示，在这些国家，英语水平跟个人社会地位等级明显成正比。
②英语的使用范围非常广泛。世界上70%以上的邮件是
用英文写或用英文写地址的。全世界科技出版物 70% 以上用英语发表。全世界的广播节目中，有60%是用英语进行的。绝大部分的国际会议是以英语为第一通用语言(90% 以上的国际会议用英语召开),它也是联合国的正式工作语言之一。总之，在国际政治、军事、经济、科技、文化、贸易、交通运输等领域，英语是一个重要的交际工具。随着我国对外开放的不断扩大化,科学技术的不断进步,国际地位的不断提高,迫切需要造就一大批精通外语的专门人才,以加速我国“四化”进程，使我国在国际事务中发挥更大更积极的作用。因此，学好英语对实现上述目标具有重要的现实意义和深远的历史意义。

英语学习的重要性众人明了，举国上下、男女老小都在学习英语！英语学习的目的是为了服务我们的生活、工作，但现在社会中的英语学习性质打上了形式主义的烙记，偏离了学习根本目的，也浸染了中国科举考试制度陋习烙印，要不得！学习了12年英语的大学毕业生对计算机中的专业英语陌生，怪不怪？不怪！因为中国的教育是从科考制度的历史中走过来的。在某计算机社会培训学校，竟然还有人花大价钱宣扬“没有计算机英语，也可以学好计算机”的谬论：说这样话的人应该很懂计算机的，他自己计算机专业英语很好，他的这种愚弄人的言论是带有鲜明商业目的的欺诈宣传行为，大家一定警惕！
没有计算机英语，你看的懂dos下的全英文命令吗？
安装操作系统，没有计算机英语知识，bios你就没办法；
计算机操作系统、应用软件的底层开发编程语言文字都是用英语写的，没有计算机英语，你能学的好程序设计吗？
没有计算机英语知识，说去“从事计算机科学与技术研究”，那是一种搞笑！世界上最先进的科学技术知识，80%以上用英语记叙、传播的，计算机领域最先进的技术、理论都是用英语发表、记载的。
中国的计算机技术应用、理论研究与世界先进水平相比，有较大差距情有可原，但与发展中国家印度相比的距离产生的主要原因之一是：英语是印度官方语言之一，印度人在英语上占有了优越条件。我国政府、社会认识到了这样的客观现实状况，所以有了现在全社会加紧学习英语的局面。

（一）培养正确的语法习惯。

练好基本功是学好英语的必要条件，没有扎实的英语基础，就谈不上继续学习，更谈不上有所成就。要想基本功扎实，必须全神贯注地认真听讲,上好每一节课，提高课堂效率，脚踏实地、一步一个脚印地，在大一、大二，同学们会开始英语课程，一是为了考过英语四六级，但更重的是英语已经渗透了渗透了各行各业，学习英语是必需的，计算机学院的学生更是有必要学好英语。
单词的学习是英语学习的基础：大家必须做到以下
一是持之以恒：每天坚持记忆一定量的词汇，过几天再回头复习一次，这样周期循环，反复记忆，需要注意的是，
一旦开始，就要坚持下来，千万不能半途而废，切不可三天打鱼，两天晒。
二是良好的记忆方法：记忆单词的方法很多，学无定法，但学有良法 .我觉得在句子中记忆单词是个不错的方法.要想理解一个句子,就必须明白句子中每个单词的含义.看句子的时候首先理解句子中每个单词的含义,然后就是对句子结构进行分析.这样一个小小的句子也蕴藏了很多的知识点.
三就是要背文章。我觉得背是为了让你更加熟悉句型，比如说和别人交谈的时候如果你有一句背得很熟的话。就可以脱口而出，不用思考，这就是背的好处，要多背范文,比如英语四六级的范文可以供你参考，这样有利于你早日考过英语四六级。
学习英语,培养兴趣最重要我们可以听听英文歌曲,看看欧美电影.但是我们并不是当成娱乐.看电影的时候电影最好是带英文字幕的,自己用心去听,先不要看字幕,看看理解多少.能把一部电影中每个句子都完全的理解,也是一种很大的成就.
同学们，大学生活刚刚开始，千万不要在无拘无束的大学生活迷失自己，同学应该知道，在
软件程序开发的代码基本上英语写出来的，这样就决定了英语对计算机专业同学的重要性，大一是不让参加四六级考试的，但是作为大一的同学，你们有充分的时间去上自习，
去做自己想做的事情，但是我知道大家的军训正在进行，大家会很苦、很累，但是大家一定要坚持下来，要知道：不经历风雨怎能见彩虹，军训过去之后，你们就会知道这短短的二十天会成为你人生中美好的回忆，同样也会成为你人生中宝贵的财富。
