I. Material analysis

本节课是第五单元话题三的第二课时,围绕对某一科目的看法展开,主要活动是1a和2a。通过Zhou Yan和Maria之间的对话,学习谈论对某一个科目看法的表达法,如“What do you think of it?”, “I don’t like it. It’s a little difficult.”等。通过听录音完成表格,抓住表示科目喜好及原因的主要信息,并训练学生听关键信息的能力。通过创编、仿编对话、同伴问答等活动,既复习了有关科目名称和现在进行时的用法,又将学习which引导的特殊疑问句,同时复习询问他人最喜爱的科目及原因的表达法。本课涉及到谈论学生对某一个学科的看法,存在一定的主观性,教师应引导学生形成正确的观念,保持学习的热情;同时创设情景,让学生在情景中反复并熟练操练Section A中已学到的关于学科的名词。II. Step 1 Introduction

Have a group competition.

Work in groups and a nswer the teacher’s questions as quickly as you can. Revise the words about the days of a week and subjects. The group which can answer the most questions will be the winner in this competition. e.g.

It’s 10:30 on Wednesday morning. What class are we having?

How many English lessons do we have a week?

What subjects do we have on Friday?

Step 2 Presentation

1. Present new words and new patterns with the help of the flashcards and context.

Let students look at the word flashcards (easy, interesting, difficult ). Answer the teacher’s questions and learn the new words and new sentence patterns.

T: What do you think of English? Easy ? Interesting? Or difficult?

S: Interesting.

T: What do you think of history? Easy ? Interesting? Or difficult?

S: Difficult.

T: Do you like Chinese?

S: Yes, I do.

T: Why?

S: Because it’s interesting.

2. Do 2a.

Answer the teacher’s questions to learn the new phrase—learn about.

T: What class are we having?

Ss: We are having an English class.

T: What are we learning about?

Ss: We are learning about English.

Then match the words of subjects with the descriptions individually. Check the answers with your partner.

Ask and answer questions with your partner with the phrases in the box in 2a.

e.g.

A: They are learning about the past in the class. What class are they having?

B: They are having a history class

3.Do 2b.

Answer the teacher’s questions to learn new words—which, subject, best.

T:I like English very much. I like Chinese a lot. I like math. Which subject do I like best? Can you guess?

Ss: English!

T: Why ?

Ss: Because you are an English teacher.

...

Then work in pairs. Look at the pictures in 2b and make up new conversations. Practice your conversations in pairs. After that, some pairs act out your conversations to the whole class.

Step3 Consolidation

1. Look at the picture in 1a. Predict the listening material in 1a.

2. Listen to the tape and complete the two columns in the table in 1b.

3. Listen again and complete the third column in 1b.

4. Check the answers with your partner.

5.Read 1a after the tape.

Then practice the conversation in 1a in pairs.

Some pairs read out the conversation to the whole class.

6. Do 1b.

Look at the table in 1b. Try to say the sentences with the help of the table.

e.g.

Maria likes English very much because she thinks it’s easy and interesting.

Zhou Yan doesn’t like English because she thinks it’s a little difficult. But she likes history very much because she thinks it’s very interesting.

Step4 Practice

1. Do 1c.

After practicing the conversation in 1a, make up a new conversation about your favorite subject in pairs. Then practice your new conversation with your partner. After that, some pairs act out your conversations to the whole class. e.g.

A: What do you think of Chinese?

B: I don’t like it at all.

A: Why?

B: Because it’s a little difficult for me. What about you?

A: I like geography best.

B: Why?

A: Because it is interesting.

Step 5 Production

Do 3. Sit in groups. Survey your group members about the subjects they like or dislike and the reasons. Then report the result to the class.

e.g.

In our group, Tom likes math because he thinks it’s interesting. But he doesn’t like history because he thinks it’s boring. Mary likes...

Homework

Review the words and practice the conversations in 1a with your partner;

Go on writing your survey report. Then report it to the class the next day;

在本课中,学生通过听力训练、师生问答、小组调查等活动,结合教学闪卡等教具,学习并反复操练了关于“喜欢与不喜欢”的表达法及其原因的表述。因为每个人的喜好不同,因此本课在表达喜好的时候掺杂了许多学生主观因素,因此我们教师应正确引导学生,避免偏科现象。

Our School教学设计教学内容分析 指导思想与理论基础 《英语课程标准》中把“激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣”放在英语教学任务的首位,那么要想使学生对英语的学习产生兴趣,最关键的一点就是学习内容应该和学生的生活实际息息相关,尽可能地贴近他们的生活。而本单元的教学内容正是学生真实生活的反映,它的核心内容是学习有关学校教室所在的楼层。本节课中我力求合理利用和开发学生学校生活中的资源,把所学知识与学生生活实际相结合,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生树立自信心,从生活经验和认知水平出发,发展学生的综合语言运用能力。让学生在活动中学习、巩固语言,在情景中应用语言,激发学生学习语言的热情。 教材分析 本节课是闽教版五年级下册第一单元Our school的第一课时,本单元的学习内容主要是运用地点句型描述学校各种教室所在的楼层和运用序数词进行回答,学生们在五年级上学期已学过疑问词where有利于本课的教学。在教授本课时,学生们能用之前所学的基数词作为铺垫从而引出序数词。而本课序数词的教学,可为下一课日期的表达打下基础,如lesson 2 的课文学习就有涉及生日的表达(教学内容的地位及作用)。本节课作为 Our school的第一课时,利用小学生喜欢故事的特点,在学习中通过对故事情节和图片的分析,有利于小学生理解人物的对话;并且在学生学习新单词的同时通过一些插图来帮助学生对一些单词的学习,如:附有dining room,teacher’s offices,computer room,music room,library等的插图有助于学生对地点名词的掌握,同时运用陈述句描述地点所在的楼层有助于学生拓展思维,运用本课所学地点句型进行提问,更好的掌握本课的重点句型(编排意图)。通过学习本课内容,教育学生无论处在哪个教室哪个楼层,都应养成爱护校园环境及公共场所的好习惯(情感和文化意识)。 学情分析 五年级学生既是四年级的衍生又是六年级的铺垫。无论是其无意注意还是其具体思维都在向有意注意与抽象思维发展着,整体性格较为活泼,思维活跃且富有表现力。竞争意识较强强,注重精神上的表扬,在学习过程中敬佩较为优秀的同学。但在学习过程中自制力仍然不够强,需要他人的监督与指导。本节课是五年级下册,学生对上册初步接触的地点副词where的基础上进一步学习where is your classroom?
