第一课:

1、从你的简历和求职信来看,你对销售工作已有相当多的经验。

I see from your résumé and application letter that you’ve had quite a lot of experience in sales already.

Our usual terms of payment are confirmed, irrevocable letter of credit by sight draft against presentation of shipping documents.

2、你们的价格偏高。但是你们产品的质量是可以弥补它的。

Compared with those of rival goods, your price is on the high side, but the quality of your products will probably make up for it.

3、其余的按付款交单,你看怎么样?

In order to conclude the business,I hope you’ll meet me half way. What about 50% by L/C and the balance by D/P?

4、我们破例地接受即期付款交单发货,但这种情况下不为例。

In compliance with your request, we exceptionally accept delivery against D/P at sight, but this should not be taken as a precedent.

We always require L/C for our exports. And the other way round, we pay by L/C for our imports and furthermore, we pay by the same kind of letter of credit when we import from your country.

6、我们在银行开立信用证时,必须付保证金,那将不但会占压了我们的资金,而且还增加了我们的费用。Frankly, a letter of credit would raise the cost of our imports When we open a letter of credit with a bank, I’ll have to pay a margin. That’ll not only tie up our money but also increa se our cost.

7、我们不能同意承兑交单付款。承兑交单只有在买卖双方非常了解,并且几乎不会发生不付款的情况下

才使用。如果货物发出,达到目的地而遭到拒绝,我们将处于十分被动的地位。

I’m very sorry we can’t agree to D/A payment terms. It is only when trading parties know each other very well and there doesn’t exist any risk of non-payment will we then adopt D/A payment terms. If goods are shipped and then rejected on arrival at the port of destination, we would be put to no end of trouble.

8、在装运前30天左右,以便我们备货,租船订舱,同时,你们还得注意信用证有效期必须保留到装船后

第15天,以使我们有足够的时间准备单证,向银行议付货款。

You’ll have to open the L/C about 30 days before the time of shipment so that we may get the goods prepared and book the shipping space. One more thing, you must see to it tha t the validity of the L/C is to remain till the 15th day after shipment, leaving enough time for us to make out the documents and negotiate payment with the bank.

(1)买方应于2009年6月10日前开立相关信用证。否则,卖方将有权撤销合约,无需通知买方。

The buyer shall establish the covering L/C before 10 June 2009; otherwise the seller reserves the right to rescind the contract without further notice.

(2)如果贵方收到此信后立即开证,我们就可以赶上本月唯一的一班驶往贵方港口的直航货船。

In all likelihood, we shall be able to catch the only direct steamer for your port this month if you establish your L/C immediately upon receipt of this letter.

(3)信用证的开证会冻结我方资金,增加成本,限制进一步的发展。

To issue an L/C will tie up our capital and increase costs, leaving us limited space for further development. (4)如果在开证方面来需要更多信息,请立即联系我们。

Should you require any further information on the L/C establishment, please contact us without any hesitation.

(5)我们要求用保兑的不可撤销的信用证支付。信用证在交货前30天开出,其有效期到货物装船后15天截止,以便我方准备好所有装运单据提交银行议付。

We’d like you to pay us by confirmed and irrevocable letter of credit. Please open the L/C 30 days before the date of delivery and keep it valid until the 15th day after shipment so that we can get all the shipping documents ready for presentation and negotiation.

(6)对于新客户我们一直采用信用证付款。另外,国际资本市场不稳,所以我们不得不坚持使用即期信用证付款。

Payment by L/C is our usual practice with all new customers for such commodities. Moreover, the international capital market is fluctuating, so I am afraid that we have to insist on payment by L/C at sight.

(7)考虑到我方面临的困境,我们要求你们修改信用证,改为在香港允许转船。

In view of the difficult situation we are in, you are requested to amend the L/C to allow transshipment of the goods in Hong Kong.

(8)由于手头的订单很多,提前交货难以实现。请配合将信用证装船期和有效期分别展延至5月15日和5月30日,并准许分批装运和转船。

We are sorry that we are unable to advance shipment owing to our heavy commitments. Please cooperate to

extend the dates of the shipment and the validity of the L/C to May 15 and 30 respectively, with transshipment and partial shipment allowed.

We are confident that the fine quality of our products, especially the unique design of the packing will help you promote the sales of our products.

This is the first time we introduce your products to our market. Your products should be competitive not just in price, quality, but in packaging as well. You are aware that the appearance of the package contributes greatly to the sales of products.

As for shirts, we usually use polybags, boxes and cartons. To be specific, we pack each piece in a polybag, half a dozen to a box, and 10 dozen to a carton.

The cartons are comparatively light and therefore easy to handle. They won’t be stowed with other heavy cargoes. Besides, we’ll reinforce the cartons with iron straps.

Proper packing is strong enough to stand long sea voyage, rough handling, jolting and shock, and to discourage pilferage; otherwise, the goods are terribly rusty and damaged.

We have booked the shipping space on S.S.“East Wind”, which is scheduled to sail on or about 10th March.
