Abstract: In general, writing is a both difficult and complex process in which you have to form

a new idea by using appropriate words and expressions. Meanwhile, you have to make sentences according to the grammatical rules. The former rule seems to be a burden bec ause it’s challenging to form a new idea or view,while the latter rule seems to be a small mistake in your sentences. Only by constant reading and polishing can you correct the mistakes in your writing.However

hard you think the writing is,seven writing strategies are available for your reference.

摘要: 一般来说，写作是一个既困难又复杂的过程，在这个过程中，你必须用适当的词语和

表达方式形成一个新的想法。同时，你必须根据语法规则造句子。前一条规则似乎是一种负

担，因为形成一个新的想法或观点具有挑战性，而后一条规则似乎是你句子中的一个小错误。

只有不断地阅读和润色，才能纠正写作中的错误。无论你认为写作是多么的困难，有七种写

作策略可供你参考。

一、写作策略之一：写好一个段落。一个段一个主题，一个主题有2-3三个细节或者论据来

支撑主题，就像一棵树，有主干，有树叶和花儿来点缀才显得有生机有活力。

试看下面这篇习作：

There are many good Chinese gifts to give foreigners.(主题句) The first one is Chinese knot.

The Chinese knot is a symbol of peace and fortune. This artifact is beautiful and meaningful.（支

撑句1）And the china is also a good choice. The china was invented in China about 4000 years ago, its English name was named after our country, and the ones which made in China is much

more exquisite than the other origins.（支撑句2）And other Chinese gifts such as silks and

painting and calligraphy. They are all Chinese characteristic, and are the works of art, so the foreign friends would like them very much.（支撑句3）

有很多很好的中国礼物可以送给外国人。第一件就是中国结。中国结是和平与财富的象征。

这个手工艺品不但漂亮，而且很有意义。另外瓷器也是一个很好的选择。瓷器是4000多年

（启：提出观点）I am the only child in my family, my parents give me all the things I want and

I don’t feel like missing anything. （承：支撑句）When in the table for eating, my parents always leave me the best dish.（转：意思峰回路转）But I don’t eat much, I lack of appetite all the time.

Someday, my friend asked me to come to his family for joining the dinner. In her family, the atmosphere was so lively, because there were two kids in the family. When they were eating, my

friend and her sister fought for the food, they ate a lot and laughed happily. I joined them to fight

for the food, I felt so happily and also ate a lot.（合：得出结论）I got to know that the eating atmosphere was very important, when someone shared the food for you, we would eat with good mood.

我是家里唯一的孩子,我的父母给了我所想要的一切东西,我觉得自己没有缺什么东西。在桌

子上吃饭,我的父母总是给我留下最好的菜。但是我不吃,我没有食欲。有一天,我的朋友邀请

我到他家去吃晚餐。在她的家里,气氛很热闹,因为这个家庭有两个孩子。当他们吃饭的时候,

上面的文章主题句是最后一句话，主题是“ I got to know that the eating atmosphere was

very important, when someone shared the food for you, we would eat with good mood. ”文章一开始提出了一个普遍的现象，然后遵循“起承转合”的思路

试看下面这篇习作：

Nowadays, green food is favored by more and more people and it can be seen in many supermarkets. The popularity of green food lies in the security. Many years ago, many popular snacks and restaurants were accused of containing the ingredients that were below the standard.

The public felt scared and insecure, because they had access to the low quality food all the time

and they even did not know it. As green food came into being, the scientists advocated to eat it.

The public were happy to accept, even though the price was a little higher than the average food. What's more, green food is very healthy. It contains low fat, which is good for people's health. Choosing the green food shows people's life standard has improved and they realized the importance of health.

如今，绿色食品受到越来越多的人青睐，在许多超市都可以看到。绿色食品的流行在于

安全。许多年前，许多受欢迎的零食和餐馆被指控所含的成分低于标准。公众感到害怕，没

上面的文章主题句不是很明显，需要作者自己总结，主题是“why the popularity of green food comes into being? ”

二、写作策略之二：多用主动句，少用被动句。主动句开门见山，简短明快，主观色彩较浓；被动句多用在科技型的说明文，讲求客观公正，强调的主体是不同的。

对比下面的例句：

gift for my grandmother. My 1)In my garage,there is an old car. It is my grandfather’s

grandfather bought the car many years ago.In order to buy this car, My grandfather had been saving his money for quite a few years.

2)In my garage,there is an old car. The car was bought many years ago by my grandfather.It is a Caddilac, a very classical luxury car, manufatured in 1966.

为什么多用主动句呢？原因有三：

第一个原因：主动句更清楚,简洁。

对比：

被动：The great challenge of this conference is to give voice to women everywhere whose experiences are not noticed and whose words are not heard by the rest of the world.(这次会议的巨大挑战是让世界各地的妇女都有发言权，她们的经历没有被注意到，

她们的话没有被世界其他地方听到)

主动：The great challenge of this conference is to give voice to women everywhere whose experiences go unnoticed and whose words go unheard by the rest of the world.

更多的例子

例1主动句：we saw him sitting there without doing anything.

变为被动句后是：He was seen sitting there without doing anything.

例2： Water (主语)sustains human life, our environment and our cultures.

例3： Mankind (主语)has made great progress since scientific exploration began.

例4：主动句：We are cleaning the floor now

被动句: The floor is being cleaned now by us.

第二个原因：无法用被动语态（主谓结构，无宾语的句子）

例1：Everyone lives by selling something. Teachers live by selling knowledge, philosophers live by selling wisdom and priests(牧师) live by selling spiritual comfort.

例2：Some serious problems have arisen recently.

例3：The number of children decreases dramatically.

三、写作策略之三：简洁而不啰嗦。

英语写作中往往有字数的要求，但是不能为了拼字数，就写的很啰嗦，画蛇添足。正如《非文学翻译理论与实践》中所提倡的：Plain English is good, clear writing which communicates as simply and effectively as possible. But it is not a childish or simplistic form of English.(简明英语是一种适当、清楚的写作方法,它以尽可能简单的方式,达到有效沟通的结果。但简明英语

不是幼稚或过分简单化的英语形式。”)——P lain English at Work, Australia

例1：In the majority of cases/In many cases，he likes to ride bike to the office. （他通常喜欢骑单车到办公室）。可以改写为He usually likes to ride bike to the office

例2：从句改为简单句：It happened that Mr. Yap was elected to the position of Chairman of the well-established Singapore Literature Society that existed in this country. 可以改写为Mr. Yap was elected Chairman of this country's well-established Singapore Literature Society.

例3：试用一个贴切的词取代几个同义词。

David, the director, called me up on the phone.这里的“on the phone”

发

和片语动词“called up”生冲突，只好把它牺牲了，或把句子改写：“David, the director, called me up.／David, the director, telephoned me.”

还有，能用短语的地方尽量不用从句，能用单词的地方尽量不用短语。举例来说，He behaved in a polite manner.这句话就可以简单改为He behaved politely. 再比如说，The girl, who

is wearing a red skirt, is my little sister. 可以改为The girl wearing a red skirt is my little sister.

试着翻译以下句子：

汉语：在一个中国式的家里，厨房不过是一个煮东西的地方；但在许多西方式的家里，厨房

不但是煮饭和吃饭的地方，还是一个家人或朋友们聚会的地方。

不好译文：In a Chinese house, the kitchen is only a place for cooking things; but in many Western houses, the kitchen is not only a place where people cook meals and eat them but also a place where the family members or friends usually meet each other. 哪里不好呢？

较好译文：In a Chinese house, the kitchen is nothing more than a place for cooking; but in many Western houses, the kitchen is not only a place where people cook and eat but also where

the family members or friends usually come together.

更好译文：In a Chinese home, the kitchen is just a place to cook; but in many western homes, the kitchen is not only a place to cook and eat, but also a place for family or friends to meet.

例4：试把过于冗长的句子加以节缩

All students in college are required to take different tests. These tests are for the purpose of determining what courses the students are suitable to take.

→　All college students are required to take different tests to determine what courses suit them.

四、写作策略之四：不要等有了灵感才下笔。

在下笔之前可能会犹豫不决，可以先列个提纲，可以是草图，头脑风暴或者思维导图的

形式；也可以把常用句型、词汇在写在草稿纸上，慢慢的你的思维就会如潺潺的溪水一样缓

缓流出，就像我现在写的文章一样。

五、写作策略之五：多用具体生动的词汇，少用抽象空洞的词汇。

请看下列词汇：

Fruits: apple banana watermelon

Professional doctor teacher worker

Organ liver lungs heart

注：写作中，在句中使用具体性的词语比使用概括性词语更具说服力，更生动具体。

例1：He is a warmhearted and kind teacher. I hope everyone can have a wonderful time. 此处用good就不够具体生动。

另外，避免使用“大”词和矫饰词

“大”词指那些非常正式，语气过于严肃的词语；矫饰词是指过于夸张性的词语。不恰

当地使用这些词会使句子表达晦涩、冗长、空洞。

e.g.

It was a splendid opportunity to get some slumber.

It was a good chance to get some sleep.

写作策略之六：适量的模仿训练。

1.高级句型模仿。

1).When it comes to education, the majority of people believe that education is a lifetime study.

说到教育，大部分人认为其是一个终生的学习

仿写：When it comes to the influence of Internet to teenagers, many people don’should keep children away from it. 当说到网络对青少年的影响时,许多人认为不应该让孩

子远离电脑.

2).What makes me surprised is that....

3).My brother and his friends were all fans of a heavy metal group called Black Wednesday.

（过去分词短语作后置定语）

仿写：They are senior three students invited to attend the lecture last week.

4).There was a time when...曾经有段时间……，when引导定语从句。

There was a time when my younger brother was crazy about computer games.

There was a time when I was afraid of learning English.

2.段落模仿。以下是人教版必修五的文章。

仿写：Yuan Longping is a famous scientist in hybrid rice(杂交水稻) in China- so expert，indeed,that he has devoted himself to the research and development of a better rice breed since 1960. But he was determined to hybridize rice when he thought about helping ordinary people suffered from hunger or famine. This was because a series of natural disasters and inappropriate policies (the Great Leap Forward) had plunged China into an unprecedented famine in the 1960s. Yuan wanted to face the challenge and solve this problem. He knew that hunger or famine would never be defeated until a new food source was found.

译文：袁隆平是中国著名的杂交水稻科学家(杂交水稻)，自1960年以来，他一直致力

于更好的水稻品种的研究和开发。但是，当他考虑帮助普通百姓遭受饥饿或饥荒时，他决心杂交水稻。这是因为一系列自然灾害和不适当的政策(大跃进)使中国在20世纪60年代陷入了前所未有的饥荒。袁先生想要面对挑战，解决这个问题。他知道，除非找到新的食物来源，否则饥饿或饥荒是无法战胜的。

段落仿写，难度比较大，不可以照搬照抄原有段落。在写袁隆平的时候，需要读一些关

于袁的生平介绍，最好是英文的，保证有效信息的输入，才能写出一段文字。

六、写作策略之七：长短句结合的原则。

长句和短句的表达效果不同，因而具有着不同的文体效果，过多地使用长句或过多地使用短句都不好。短句是指字数不多的句子，短句的特点是易于组织和表达，随便自然，利于体现文章的速度和力度感。而英语长句的特点在于它便于表达严密的思想，缜密的逻辑和复杂的活动等等。所以，我们一定要把长句短句的优势和特点在英文写作过程中充分体现出来，

而且如果我们把短句放在段首或者段末，也可以揭示主题，例如：

As a creature, I eat; as a man, I read. Although one action is to meet the primary need of my body and the other is to satisfy the intellectual need of mind, they are in a way quite similar.

例如：

At noon we had a picnic lunch in the sunshine. Then we had a short rest. Then we began to play happily. We sang and danced. Some told stories. Some played chess.

→ At noon we had a picnic lunch in the sunshine. After a short rest, we had great fun singing and dancing, telling jokes and playing chess.

对比一下，不难发现，改写前的句子比较松散，改写后比较紧凑。

从长短句角度(注意黑体部分)，看看如下面根据2015年新课标卷Ⅰ作文题所写的这篇作文：

Dear Peter,

Recently，in order to broaden our horizons,our school newspaper,which is very popular among us students, will start a column about western life and culture.We are in great need of such articles. That’s why I’m writing to you.
