Dear Wang Mei,

I am glad to receive your letter asking for my advice on how to learn English well. Here are a few suggestions.

Firstly, it is important to listen to the teacher carefully and take notes in

class. In this way, you’ll be able to learn from the teacher. Secondly ,after class you should go over your lessons as soon as possible. Thirdly, you must spend half an hour reciting words and reading texts aloud. As we all know , vocabulary is very important. What’s mo re, try to communicate with your classmates in English and learn to sing English songs out of class. It also helps to read books, newspapers and magazines in English. Last but not least, you should develop the habit of keeping a diary in English every day.

I hope these tips will be of use to you.

Best wishes, Yours truly,

Li Hua
