Kids in western countries often turn their parents’ kitchens into bakeries (面包店). They like making many kinds of bread in different ways. Making bread looks simple, but it’s quite hard work!

Making bread needs flour, water and yeast (酵母). F irst, you have to put flour into a bowl. Add some yeast. Next, make a hole in the middle of the flour and add a little water. Now comes the hard part. Push the dough (生面团) down with your hands again and again until it is hard. This is very important. Then, put a dish over the dough and wait for it to rise. It’s like magic!

The dough will get much bigger because of the yeast. But you must press the dough back down again, pushing out the air. Finally, put the dough into the oven (烤箱). Bake it for about 15 minutes.
