A family is a collection of people who share the same genes（基因）but cannot agree on a place to pull over for lunch. Ed and I, plus his parents and sister Doris and eight-year-old niece Alisha, are on a road trip to Yosemite. Ed wants Subway, I want In-N-Out Burger, and Doris wants Sonic. Millions of New Yorkers and visitors ride the city’s subways and other trains each day. The public transportation system offers more than just a trip, however. It also has one of the most extensive public art collections in the world, with many of them under city streets.

Some people call it New York’s “underground art museum”. It includes more than 250 works of art. They are meant to brighten everyone’s ride around the city.

There is a huge painting of the night sky on the ceiling（天花板）of Grand Central Terminal. New Yorkers have been looking up at that artwork for 111 years. In the nearby Grand Central Market, you can find a large crystal light painting, which was completed by sculptor Donald Lipski in 1988. If you’re looking for a fairly painless way to lose weight, researchers at Brigham Young University have a new solution for you: Put yourself on a regular sleep schedule. People who keep a regular sleep routine have a lower body fat than those who keep irregular（无规律的）sleep hours, says a new study.

Led by Bruce Bailey, professor of exercise science, researchers followed 300 female（女性）college students aged 19 to 26, who were given activity trackers（跟踪器）to watch their movements and activities, including waking and sleeping times . Researchers also measured their body composition (成分)before and after the one-week study period.

What the researchers found:

The study followed up on a body of research conducted over the last few years that connects quality and quantity of sleep with weight loss and better weight control.
