话题1寓言故事

(2017年E篇,2015年E篇)

Passage 1(素材选自One Story A Day Book 6)

诚实人的奖赏

There is a saying that “honesty is the best policy(策略)”. Tell the truth and good things will happen. This is just the way it is.

Long ago, a homeless man was walking in a busy market. On the ground in front of him, he saw a leather(皮制的)purse. Upon opening it, he found 100 gold coins inside. The beggar was hungry. He had no home. He even wanted to keep the purse. Suddenly, he heard the cry of a rich man. “I have lost my money bag! ” he shouted. “I offer a big reward(酬谢) to anyone who finds it and returns it to me.” The homeless man gave the rich man back his money.

However, the rich man had other plans. He opened the bag and said, “There are only 100 gold coins inside. The purse I lost had 200 gold coins. You must have stolen the rest. You will have no reward from me.” The beggar went to the court to settle the matter.

A wise judge said, “Rich man, you say you lost a purse containing 200 gold coins. However, the beggar found a purse containing only 100 gold coins. I know that his purse can't be the one you lost.”

So the judge gave the purse to the person who had found it, as no rightful owner had come forward to prove it was his. And that is why, in the end, honesty truly is the best policy.

Passage 2(2019安徽定心卷)

There lived some animals in the forest. They seldom played together so they knew little about each other.

One day, a monkey was looking for food for dinner. Suddenly he saw a lion under a tree. The lion began to run at him and wanted to eat him as dinner. He was very afraid and tried to run away from the lion as soon as possible. He ran so quickly that he fell into the river and the lion left. Unluckily, he couldn't swim. He shouted loudly, hoping someone might help him out.

A swan(天鹅) heard him. She swam to the monkey. But she couldn't pull the monkey out of the water, because she was not strong enough. After a while, the elephant came. He was very strong. He helped save the monkey with his long nose.

After being saved by the elephant and the swan, the monkey was very thankful to them for their kindness. The three animals became friends since then. That night, the monkey invited the elephant and the swan to his home and they shared a big meal together.

聪明的兔子

The wolf and the fox wanted to eat the rabbit, but it wasn't easy to catch him.

One day the wolf said to the fox, “You go home and lie in bed. I'll tell the rabbit that you are dead. When he

comes to look at you, you can jump up and catch him.” “That's a good idea.” said the fox.

He went home at once. The wolf went to the rabbit's house and knocked at the door. “Who is it?” asked the rabbit. “It's the wolf. I've come to tell you that the fox is dead.” Then the wolf went away.

The rabbit went to the fox's house. He looked in through the window and saw the fox lying in bed with his eyes closed. He thought, “Is the fox really dead or is he pretending(假装) to be dead? If he's not dead, he'll catch me when I go near him.”so he said, “The wolf says that the fox is dead. But he doesn't look like a dead fox. The mouth of a dead fox is always open.” When the fox heard this, he thought, “I'll show him that I'm dead.” So he opened his mouth.

话题2哲理与感悟

(2019年E篇)

Passage 4(素材选自Wonderful WORLD)

人生信条

It is very important to have a law to base your life on. As for me, the law of life is that success is a journey, not a destination(目的地). It means that the most important is not where you are in the end, but what you have finished while you are trying along the way.

One person who shares my law of life is Mark McGwire, a US baseball player. He once played for St. Louis Cardinals. He wasn't caught up in the home-run(全垒打)competition in the 1998 season, but he tried his best to play every game. And, most of the time, he helped his teammates instead of improving personal performance,

because he wanted to make it a good season for the whole team.

It doesn't matter whether you have the ability to be on the top in the end or win the championship. All that matters is that you work hard the whole time. There are a few people in the world who have already understood that success is a journey, not a destination. But wouldn't it be a much better world if everyone did? After all, it's not about who wins or loses, but about how well you play the game. I hope I can apply this to my own life.

1. What is very important to our life according to the passage?(不超过15个词)

2. Why did Mark McGwire help his teammates?(不超过15个词)

Passage 5(2020原创)

翅膀断了,心也要飞翔

A boy lost his arms in an accident. Since then, he has had to depend on his younger brother. Except for writing with his toes(脚趾), he can't do anything else. As the two brothers grew up together, they had their own problems and often quarrelled(争吵). Then one day, his younger brother went away and lived alone. The boy was heart-broken and didn't know what to do.

A similar thing happened to a girl. One night, the girl was preparing dinner when it caused a fire. The fire took her hands away. Though her elder sister wanted to take care of her, she refused. At school, she studied hard. “I am lucky. Though my arms are broken, my heart can still fly.”she once said.

One day, the boy and the girl were both interviewed on a TV program. The boy told the TV host about his uncertain future, while the girl was full of enthusiasm(热情) for her life. They were both asked to write something on a piece of paper with their toes. The boy wrote: My younger brother's arms are my arms. While the girl wrote: Broken wings, flying heart.

They had both went through the same hard times, but their different attitudes(态度)decide the nature(本质)of their lives. It is true that life is unexpected. Disasters(灾难)can happen at any time. So deal with the difficulties in an active attitude.

He didn't find a job, and he had to beg(乞讨) for food on the street for a living. Years later, his mother died. Though his father was old, he was still looking for his son. One day, the son saw one of the photos. The face on the photo was just his father's. He moved closer and read the words, “I still love you...” Tears ran down his face. He made up his mind to go back to see his parents.

Passage 7(2019安徽黑马卷)

When I was about 12 years old, I really wanted a new bike! I told my parents my birthday wish, but I knew there was little hope because my family could hardly afford it.

On my birthday my parents told me they had my gift outside in the back yard. At once I rushed out to the yard. There was my bike, but it wasn't the bike that I thought it would be. This one was pink, old and worn with age. It was so disappointing(令人失望的)!I thought I hurt my parents' feelings because I was sure they could see the disappointment on my face. I got on the old bike and rode it, feeling bad. I knew I had made my parents feel bad too. So I put on a smile, rode as fast as I could and didn't look back.

As time went by, I began to understand that my parents gave me something much more than just an old bike. They gave me a life lesson about love. When you give something out of love, it doesn't matter what it is. What matters is the love in it. I finally know that a gift with deep love is always the most valuable.

Passage 9(2020原创)

谢谢你让我成为更好的人

There is a man who I see on the train every morning. He always sits alone, never speaks to anyone and never listens to music.

Around eight days ago I noticed he was video chatting with a friend using signs.

After he hung up, he looked so sad. I tried to ask him if he was okay, but we could not understand each other. So I put my hand on his shoulder and just smiled.

I felt so helpless to help. To communicate with him, I started staying up a few hours after work to learn American Sign Language through a video tutorial(教程).

After several days of learning and practicing, I could use sign language to communicate. When I met him again one morning, I said hello to him and asked him how he was for the first time.

He looked surprised, and the smile on his face made all the late nights and tired days worthwhile(值得的).

Then he got his phone out and typed out a message and handed it to me. It just said “thank you” and when I looked up, he seemed proud of me and remembered our last meeting.

Passage 10(2020原创)

Do you love Chinese silk? In the past, it was an important thing that was sold to other countries for many centuries. And it is still a popular thing wherever Chinese silk goes.

Silk is smooth, bright, soft and strong. The history of Chinese silk goes back more than 5,000 years. And here is how silk is made and where it is produced.

The wife of the Yellow Emperor was having tea under a tree when a silkworm cocoon(蚕茧) fell into her cup. As she watched, a silk could be pulled from the cocoon. Then she realized that the strong silk could be used to make cloth. She taught her people how to raise silkworms and later invented the loom(织机). Thus, an industry was born.

Silk is mainly produced in the south of the Yangtze River Delta. Famous silk producing areas are Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan. Cities such as Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Shaoxing are well-known for their silk industries. The people living in the areas were the inventors of silk fabric(织物). The history of silk making goes back 6,000 years. The earliest example of silk fabric dates from 3,630 BC in Henan.

Passage 11(2020原创)

闪光现象

When you look up into the sky at night, have you ever noticed that the stars are moving all the time?

The situation is called scintillation(闪光), which happens because of air movements in the earth's atmosphere(大气). It is a twinkling(闪烁) effect. Light is “not straight” when it travels through different parts of the earth's atmosphere. As the air in the earth's atmosphere is moving all the time, the light from the stars looks as if it is moving too.

The same thing also happens to things on the ground. On a very hot day, if you look at the road, the things in the far places are not clear and move slowly. You can also see the same effect if you drop a rock into water. The rock appears a little unclear under the moving water.

Scintillation causes a lot of problems for astronomers (天文学家) since they cannot see the stars clearly. A telescope(望远镜) was sent into space so that the air movements in the atmosphere could be avoided. It took a long time to build the space telescope but finally in 1990, a huge space telescope called the Hubble Space Telescope was successfully sent into space. Since then, astronomers have many important studies that have helped people understand space better.

Passage 12(2020原创)

The sudden sound of an alarm clock is enough to wake most of us, but it's an unhappy way to start the day. Thanks to creative inventors who have been changing our lives with their fantastic products, we may be woken up by the scent(香味) of our favorite food in the future.

Here is an alarm clock called Sensor Wake Trio. It can wake you up with smells such as coffee, warm cookies and orange juice.

This kind of alarm clock has a large face for showing the time and a hole at the top to release(释放) the scent.

The clock works by releasing the scent at a chosen time. If a user isn't woken up within a minute, lights on its face will be turned on. What's more, to make sure that the user gets up on time and doesn't miss an important meeting, the alarm clock can also produce sound three minutes after the scent is released.

These red apples are all for him. 2. 形容词性和名词性物主代词的用法混淆。 The big yellow pears belong to me; the rest small ones are his and her. The big yellow pears belong to me; the rest small ones are his and hers. 3. 反身代词和人称代词相混淆。 Who taught your sister English? Nobody. She learned it all by her. 谁教你姐姐英文的?没有人。她全靠自己学的。 解析:从句子的意思理解,介词by后应该用反身代词表示“某人自己独自做某事”。所以把her改为herself。 改后:Who taught your sister English? Nobody. She learned it all by herself. 4. 反身代词人称和数与它所指的名词或代词不一致。 Boys and girls! Enjoy yourself!

They are both places with very cold temperatures and few people live there. However, the North and South Poles are not much alike as people may imagine. The North Pole has no land, only thick ice. Temperatures seldom go above 32°F, at which water turns into ice. Most of the time, it stays below zero. In winter temperatures are usually as low as -30℉. Although conditions were very poor, people tried for many centuries to reach the North Pole. About 100 years ago, two men, Robert Peary and Mathew Henson, were able to get to this environment full of troubles and difficulties. They reached the North Pole on March 8th, 1909. It was really a hard trip for them.

So what happens at a Laughter Club? I went along to my nearest club in South London to find out. I was quite nervous at the beginning of the class, to be honest, I wasn't interested in laughing with a group of strangers, and I was worried about looking stupid. Our laughter teacher told us to clap our hands and say “ho ho ho, ha ha ha.” while looking at each other. However, our bodies can't tell the difference between real laughter and unreal laughter, so they still produce the same healthy effects. Surprisingly, it worked! After ten minutes everybody in the room was laughing for real and some people just couldn't stop! At the end of the class I was surprised by how relaxed-and comfortable I felt. So if you're under stress, then start laughing. You might be very pleased with the results! (1)The first Laughter Club was started in __________. A. India B. America C. Britain D.
